The Filter entry box for Types filters on groupName, right? In some cases this can be irritating/helpful - depending on the user.

good job guys!

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

Resetting all Overview Settings (using the button in the Misc Tab) also clears the history Blink

The first entry in the "Entity" group is blank and has no text.

Ghost site NPCs do not seem to have their own entry even though when you right click on the Mordus in a besieged site you get the "Add Ghost Site... to the overview" option.

i would like to see the ability to use different color text for the tab headers ie red text is my pvp tab, green or blue been my friendlies etc and also color in the ships / ticker tabs, would also like to be able to more than 5 tabs.

You can already do that pretty easily. Once the new sharing mechanic is live contact me and I'll send you my setup if you wish.

i already use colors in the overview i use (sara's pack) but this is quite tedious having to type it in each time, would be much easier if ccp gave us a color text option box like we have in the background / colortag options etc

also no offence intended but i would not use an overview from someone i did not know Blink

Ah yes, that would be sweet.

Why not, you can always easily revert to the old one Smile

Let me remind you of the fact that you wouldn't see anyone in your overview, seeing as you just clicked the overview which only has an asteroids tab spread by the enemy fleet.. The modal window just saved you Lol

No I didn't, because I still have a confirmation screen, and I clicked no.

I want a confirmation screen, just one that isn't modal.

It isn't necessary for this to be modal. It's perfectly possible UI design for the confirmation window for this to be non-modal.

This is CCP slipping back into bad UI design - which I'd hoped was a thing of the past :-(

What the hell is a modal screen?

And UI went back to stone age even in Crius. The Industry UI & Lists cannot be copied, the window cannot be merged with others, lacks any options whatsoever and take up half your screen.

wow... sharing overview settings via chat saves a lot of time and effort...

drag-and-drop into chat is what I currently do with everything else. my clients share a private channel, and it is my primary means of passing information between them. I apologize for stating the obvious, I'm just framing my feedback / uniboxers are surprised by my ways nonetheless :-/

during the mass test I found myself passing along a setting [during the engagement], with small changes along the way... it was... fluid. I started with a cloaky ECM character, whose overview needs are very basic aside from eliminating fleet clutter. I posted it into chat, then made alterations with a turret character, and posted that... then I went down the line of clients, clicking the one I needed between the two.

it was pretty ninja, and intuitive... I was impressed with it as it happened.

I did try to drop a shared setting onto a specific character's name directly, which didn't work... the characters were in identical ships & fits, and none of the other characters needed those settings, so I tried to take a shortcut. if dropping onto a name was possible, it would save the step of hitting "enter" in the text field, and then a click from the receiving client. it would also avoid requiring a shared chat channel, and exposing overview settings to everyone in it.

sending overview settings via EVEmail is a nice mass communication tool, too. I'm sure I'll use this sharing functionality in more nuanced ways as time goes on.

changing ship types (and ship roles) with a character is kind of a hassle right now when it comes to overview...

I can see myself using EVEmails (and my inbox) as a way to store overview settings according to role (tackle, logi, dreads, covops etc)...

is there a way to save overview settings to corporation? like corp bookmarks, with edit and copy roles (communications officer), etc. corporation bookmarks-style settings would be less clunky than EVEmails.

I could make use of both. you know that situation where you drop corp without saving fits or bookmarks, after taking them for granted (and then regret it as soon as you undock and right-click in space to find an empty menu)... I could see overview settings being like that.

this was a huge shift from clunky to slick. awesome awesome.

Any way to change the name or add to it. Leaving the original creator info in a tip would work. I think.

The Input field to set the name of the setting to be shared adjusts itself to the width of the name set. And this also reduces the maximum width of the input history dropdown, like shown here.

I really don't like what you did to the menus. I searched by myself for some time for the import and export functionality without luck and had to be explicitly told that it's on the menu for the overview settings dialog box now (a menu that I have never used). Loading a preset to the active label, my most common operation, is now error prone and slow as I have to right click on specifically the active tab and go into a submenu to do this.

Modal windows are ones you can't ignore, and have to respond to, before doing anything else. They lock out everything else.
