This reminds me of a strange combination of Type O Negative and Katatonia album art.
It's fantastic, and I feel compelled to steal it. Big smile

actually, the original photo was on a Counting Crows album: http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B000008USI.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg

I use shopped old b/w photos, usually with industrial motives, for quite a while now as wallpapers, so if you like this, here are some older ones, feel free to use them or change them as much as you want:

Thanks. Actually it's pretty easy.
Just invert the colours and then overlay an other colour, maybe toy around with brightness and contrast a little.
The hardest part is to find cool photos of early 20th century machinery.

That's unfortunately not as easy as it sounds here.
Germans are so obsessed with either modernizing their factories all the time or tearing them down and building them new, that you are hard pressed to find that awesome gigantic early-industrial-age machinery.
Maybe somewhere in East Germany- next time I get there I should do some urban exploring.

Doh, that sucks. Here in Spain we can enjoy brand new deserted airports (three), abandoned just built housing (about two million units), unused toll highways (six just around Madrid), tramway lines without trams (only one, but it's 46 kilometers long)... Lol

We've taken industrial archaeology to a whole new level: industrial archaeology of deserted brand new infrastructure.

I have a bunch of pics I saved from NASA's image library

every now and then I randomly pick one for a small change.
