CCP Leeloo here with a short but exciting announcement. We are ready for the CSM9 summer summit!

This year the summit will be held from 17th to 19th of September. Members of the CSM who will be attending the summit here in Reykjavik are:

  • Ali Aras
  • Sion Kumitomo
  • Steve Ronuken
  • Mynnna
  • Sugar Kyle
  • Mike Azariah
  • Corbexx

Additionally, 7 members who won’t be flying over will be able to join all meetings they want to online. We’ve adjusted the schedule, so most of the team will be able to join the sessions that they would like to be a part of.

This year, the CSM Summit will be full of exciting discussions. We will have members of various teams, including team security, marketing, analytics, development, community and many others. CSM9 will have a chance to go over the recap of this year with game design teams and also talk about future of EVE with the teams and our new Executive Producer, CCP Seagull.

After the summit is over, members of the CSM will be able to share some of their discoveries with the rest of the community.
As always, a detailed report will be published traditionally in the Meeting Minutes format.

Please, feel free to leave your suggestion for the CSM members here. We will make sure to discuss all of your great ideas during this summit <3

Hai!

Please fix industry! it is still broken :)
Need ability to queue jobs.
Increase the copy runs limit to 30 days max.
Ability to hide the top part of industry.
A compact version that displays materials in a list view like it does in BP show info window.
Ability to filter out blueprints in use. It's great that we can see them but it sucks that we can't filter them out.
PLEASE DO NOT LET THEM DUMB DOWN THE CORP MANAGEMENT! Make the roles more granular, clear and visible, but we need more options for corp management, not less.

Thank you for all the hard work, good luck and don't forget to have fun in Iceland!

The CSM XI Election are now open until March 25th, 2016. Consider Niko Lorenzio for CSM XI.

Hey how about discussing real ways to improve active players. Everything else will only make a great game better, that less and less people play.

Hey potential eve player and future Bloc lemming, we are spending all our time tweaking **** you will not care about for 1-2 years of playing and will never experiance because you never started.

Sincerely,

Please, this time, release the minutes faster!

Its not that hard... Have someone write them during the discussion, with everyone having access to the document (like a google doc) through a pad or something to see what's being written live, and offer corrections on the fly if needed.

This way the minutes are almost done at the end of every meeting and all you need to do is substract NDAed parts.

No more multi-months waiting please! Big smile

Unedited, unfiltered stream(s) from the Summit? Or can we only expect high edited transcripts in a few months censored under the guise of "NDA"?

Filtered, of course. This is not casual chat nor fanfest preapproved presentations we are talking about. We talk frankly and some of the topics would melt the forums.

As to the 'few months'? I for one hope to better that time.

NDA is not a guise, it is a safety mechanism that allows the CSM to actually look behind the curtain and do something.

Yes, I know I am feeding the trolls and a cute little green one you are, Ginger.

This bears repeating. The publishing of the minutes have been woefully inadequate. By the time the minutes are out most of the topics discussed are ancient history by a mile.

Well i hope someone is gonna talk about fluid sov mechanics , so that people will actualy fight agressively for sov once more, rather then boring attritional warfare that led to the blue donut.

My main problem with NDA being thrown around so loosely is that there is little way to know who advocated for what in a lot of circumstances. How can I know that the people I vote for actually advocated what they said they would? It makes the voting rather pointless if there is no way to hold your representative(s) accountable.

This is quite literally how it was done this past winter. We had a draft of the Minutes not too awfully different from what was actually presented to players done and back in CCP's hands by five days after the Summit.

The problem then becomes the fact that virtually everything in that document was NDA and about a release that was a couple of months away. CCP doesn't want the Minutes announcing new features for them. That's particularly true if in the intervening two months something proves more difficult to do than anticipated and a feature is dropped. The various teams get the right to approve the document for their pieces, which they're willing to do... after CCP gets the chance to announce those pieces.

So the CSM is left with a choice between "release the doc in pieces as each piece is announced" or "edit and strip the document down to just non-NDA stuff". Both of those choices are non-ideal. Past CSMs had the advantage of their summits being much closer to game release dates, but past CSMs also had much less influence. By the time stuff was presented to CSM5, say, it was pretty much done, in the game, and ready for Sisi. Much of the stuff presented to CSM8 was much more speculative and still in the design phase. It's part of the advantage of the CSM being involved much earlier in the process.

So it's gonna be a tricky balance for future CSMs to manage.

Thats actually being discussed in the past week. As csm representatives sometimes the nda strangles you. And only sometimes players piece a csm and a feature together.

As new csm member i can tell i am flabbergasted at the amount of info and acces we get, and how serieusly we have been aproached and listened too. Thoguh different means we are in touch with alot of ideas and work in progress. For me i can name the access to null sec pi for outside allaince as a thing i ran with, and it now made hyperion, but most of the work is in the shadows, ccp is atm actually looking into to giving you all more insigts, how ofc is nda atm haha

Lol, of course. Lol Glad to hear it's on people's mind, though, thank you. Sometimes just knowing "hey we would like to address this thing that concerns you guys" is a lot more helpful than NDA silence.

Will the integrating mechanics between EVE and Merc Gameplay be on the agenda? If so - Will the CPM be involved as well?

This subject needs to be discussed by both parties why not hit them all up at once.

Alot of people playing Mercs dont feel the integration mechanics leave enough room for EVE pilots to care what happens on the ground. for example in FW a system will flip weather you have merc support or not.

I realize this was done for a reason, that CCP didn't want to break EVE should Merc gameplay fail.... however from a MERC point of view it fails partially down to the fact that Mercs are not needed to achieve anything.

I.e. EVE mechanics need to change to make merc players more utilized - Be they DUST or Legion (if it gets the go ahead).

Good job to the 7 people signing up to participate in the CSM and then being unable to actually attend the meetings in person!

Hang me by the noose but I would argue NDA shouldn't exist in EVE Online. I know it's hard to tell from the forum posts but this is a mature dedicated community. We would rather have early discussion on a proposed feature and have it dropped than not have a discussion at all.

The CSM XI Election are now open until March 25th, 2016. Consider Niko Lorenzio for CSM XI.
