Things happen, there's a nueting Tristan on that kill too, flying alone at night with no back up tends have some disadvantages. But you wouldn't know anything about flying solo....

You can check PLAYER ships lost on the map. Geez. I tough goons at least teach their pilots how to use the MAP by themselves.

If You THINK any significant part of those losses are to rats... LOL. Check Dotlan if you wish, there they list only killmails. High sec kills far more players than 0.0 except during major wars.
