Messing around in Pyfa, I can get a fitting that uses 8xVespa's Cruise Launcher and 4xThon's BCSs that does 1225 dps (6764 volley) with Caldari Navy Inferno before Rigs. It's estimating 24 billion isk for those fittings (2bill per module).

It looks like a good choice, it has high base HP, bigger drone bay/bandwidth and one more low slot than Caldari ships. Downsides: It's very slow, it has one less mid than other Raven variants while still having the same, base targeting range.

Rise also commented on the CSM notes that PVE makes up most of Eve, PVP being in the minority

The Bhaalgorn can't PVE and it's neut bonus isn't useful due to no-range increase. It's only good and small egnagements with capital ships.

Essentially every alliaince who has put the Bhaalgorm as a flagship is moronic, as the Geddon is 400x more effective at the same job.

No, i'm not blind to the irony of that statement.

It means they want a massively tanky ship with long-range damage projection that can track even the smallest targets.

Realistically though it's an expensive brick thanks to the MJD units in use this year. If you can kill the support ships and ignore it then spend time running away, you'll win without a straight brawl... or at least force the team to split.

So many cheap flagships being used to no special purpose... waste of time.

It's best not to declare one instead of declaring some random ship and fitting it with common modules.

Maybe next year CCP should create a minimum ISK value for a ship to be able to be a Flagship and the obligation of a Flagship for all teams.

Immunity from bans is the single biggest use for a flagship now. Far from a waste of time, it has a HUGE impact on what teams are choosing to bring, and what they're choosing to ban. With the rules of what modules can be fitted to flagships that are above meta 5, some of the hulls aren't as expensive to "tourney bling" as others are. Like so much of the tournament, what you're seeing on the screen is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to flagship choices/non-choices.
