The search must include a ISK bottom and ceiling to filter the public KR by their ISK values, and of course a sort by ISK value on the final list too...

I also like the direction of Boom Boom's proposed changes and of course there is no "do this one thing and bounties are fixed"-thing.

Many thanks for the time and attention of all those who have read, replied to or liked my post.

From feedback that I have seen, there do seem to be some misunderstandings about how bounties and kill rights work, which is reasonable given that they are marginal mechanics in the game at present. For those so inclined, EVElopedia has pretty good explanations of the basic mechanics:

I acknowledge all the suggestions for how to make a bigger, better, richer and more complete bounty hunting aspect to the game. There are some great ideas there.

My instincts still tell me that asking for small, incremental changes that don't mess to much with the in-space mechanics stand a better chance of adoption. This is particularly true under the new CCP development model where small projects can fit into little pieces of spare time between the bigger projects.

In any case, it's great to see some people interested in bounty hunting ... and generally providing well considered input into improving the game for everybody.

It doesn't really fix bounty hunting but it's still a pretty good idea.

Good start.

The issue for the Bounty Hunter profession is, obviously, the fact that it can always be gamed by the targets alts.

If a way around this could be found (and atm I see no way around it), then maybe it could become a viable profession.

I know when I started around the Retribution expansion the exploration and the bounty hunting seems like it would make for some amazing fun and adventures!

Definitely a +1 for this idea though.

Sounds like a better alternative to what we have now. Have you posted a thread with your idea here in the F&I forums?

I would definitely go bump that thread up.

An addition to your idea would be to use the kill rights, you would require training the Bounty Hunter skill and in addition they need to keep a sec status above a certain value. Or you can modify the amount made off the bounty based on the sec status and the skill?

Just some thoughts on your excellent idea.

I'll add, this idea could be used a bump to lowsec. If you have say a bounty hunting office, or a black market type contract system in lowsec only. So you have to go there to find the bounties and get the contracts to go kill them. Thus getting people who can 'police' low sec into low sec, and pirates would have more targets as they play cat and mouse with actual bounty hunters.

I've written extensively on a bounty hunting system. I've worked with various CSM members as well to try and find a system that is simple enough for new players to understand yet complex enough to provide long-term gameplay to veterans while providing an actual career lifestyle. I hope you'll take a look here.

I agree with most of the points that BBL wrote, as a sidenote.
