However does the class of the wormhole affect the ore? Is there a better chance of high end ore spawning? Do more mining sites spawn? And does the ore itself have more in it, or richer type of ore?

Even the lowest tier sites have all the nullsec ores available. The difference is mainly on the amount of the ore available, but if you're mining alone, even the smallest ones are pretty huge.While higher class wormholes spawn bigger sites as far as I know, it doesn't really matter as they're readily available everywhere.

Be wary though, these sites spawn a small wave of sleepers after mining for a while.

To be more precise: They spawn 20 minutes after someone initiated a warp to the site. it should be noted that mining in a wormhole system that isn't locked down is insanely dangerous and WILL get you killed.

No point in scaring all the fish for a quick catch when you can net them all in one go.

Yes. See this page for all the different effects that exist: https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Wormholes
Not all systems have an effect though. Some effects are getting changed in the next expansion/release.
