HARPA? US?? (Fanfest 2012)

I have to say I'm rather shocked. Reykjavik has this fabulous new concert hall, HARPA...and they're going to let US use it for Fanfest 2012? I find it hard to believe, unless they really don't know what they're getting into. US? Maybe they're letting us use the parking lot...they couldn't possibly allow an avalanche of beer-sotted, spaceship jockeys on their new upholstery!

Hmm...I wonder what tale management told them to get away with this...

Given that earlier this year they complained about some corporations annual fest not being classy enough and there being to much drunkness i would love to see the faces of Harpa's managers when our drunk space crowd arrives :)

Try not to break the thing so it is still there for next year.

(Not that it matters much, they won't take this crowd again after they realize what they agreed to... but it looks like a nice building and all, would hate to see it in ruin)

There is a world wide recession now, most places like that would be hard hit up to find clients, beggars cant be choosers. Actually CCP should get a bit bold and maybe could get the iceland volcano itself to hold fanfest.

Fanfest is going to be extra-crazy this time around with everyone down in the centre of Reykjavik rather than a couple of miles out around Laugardalshöll.

Also, less taxi money required!

With all the **** thats gone on this year, I expect Fanfest to be a bit awkward for some. Also due to the 20% many familiar faces won't be there. :(

Well that line worked on us before Incarna launched, too, so I guess that's an understandable mistake on their part.

edit: Tempering my possibly-downer post with a yay-Crucible-is-awesome footnote. Also, I'd like to make it out to fanfest one of these years, but it's just too goddamn expensive. Also health issues. Man, RL sucks. No wonder EVE is so awesome, even when CCP does silly things.

Imagine how awesome it will be once incarna actually gets useful. Then we can have a parallel digital fanfest in Jita at the same time :D
Imagine letting those on stage use motion capture to directly transmit their position in real time to an avatar on a digital stage ingame!

That idea is for free CCP, use it as you see fit ;)
