Not to make any excuses, but I was messing with my overview settings and did not realize I was out of the area we were suppose to stay in.

Again Thx for the event, hope to be better in the next.

Looks like it went well guys. Shame I couldn't be there because of college. Hope you all had fun, and Congratz to the Champion.

BTW what was the CCP Prize :)

I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your terror comes, When your terror comes like a storm, And your destruction comes like a whirlwind, When distress and anguish come upon you.   Proverbs 1:26-27

I am really excited that Mystical Might won 8 Accolades and didn't place in the Top 40; it shows his pvp prowness paid off even though he did not make it too the end... His Prizes total close to that of the Top 3!!! Congratulations!!!

I'd just like to take the time to thank you for running the event. Some of the best fun I've had in a long while. I wasn't expecting to win any prizes, so this comes as a nice surprise to me Shocked.

1st place

EVE Second Decade Collector’s Edition
EVE Source Limited Edition

2nd place

EVE Source Standard Edition
EVE Second Decade Collector’s Edition Mystery Code

3rd place

EVE Source Standard Edition
EVE Second Decade Collector’s Edition Mystery Code

I what we were told; however CCP ask us to inform them of the top three... and they weren't able to confirm; regardless the top three prizes were significant themselves; and if CCP does come through it'll be the icing on the cake.

If anyone has any video content from their perspective regarding the event to be posted to youtube etc. If you could send me the links we are compiling a historical record of the event.

After looking at the feedback that was filled out in my feedback form as well as talking to a few people in the Theomachy The Event channel. A few things that will be resolved and handled prior to the next event.

ArrowToo Many Troll fits- I thought they would be mostly destroyed but in reality people found them, and got out of them so they simply piled up as we brought in more ships(I might have been guilty of dropping 3 of the RR Mallers) Sorry Marlona.

We had around 250-300 troll ships out of the entire batch, which on paper is not alot but when they aren't destroyed they will pile up and mess up our ratios so I am going to reduce how many we have in the future. This will also include the troll loot cans that were available.

ArrowToo many Bubbles - The bubbles purpose was to keep people from just warping around in pods all event(though that happened anyway). They simply lost their power against the larger groups as tacticals were made(we might address that next time to make it so you can't avoid fights so easily.

We will tone down the amount of bubbles at beacons in the future

ArrowRisk vs Reward Balance - It was pointed out to me that a troll fit ship was found inside a bubble, that was most likely an oversight on our part as we were rushing to get the arena setup from 15:00 up until you guys got into system.

In the future if a ship is in a bubble or a loot can is in a bubble, its going to actually be worth it and not garbage.

ArrowRefitting Options - There were currently 2 ways to refit your ships without finding a mobile depot, the Refitting POS that LG owned that was at the Supply Depot beacon, but since there were bubbles there, it was a risky location to go to. Or players didn't realize they could use the SMAs. The second option was a carrier that was very late in getting there, the pilot was a LG person and that was probably not well explained either.

In the future, instead of keeping it secret, we will make it more obvious what refitting options the players have, otherwise it makes all the 215 loot containers I put in the arena worthless.

ArrowOverview Clutter - The amount of ejected ships in the arena, mobile bubbles and loot cans where for the players to use but due to eve mechanics we are limited to what we can do.

So going forward due to limited ways to resolve the issue AND make it fun for everyone. We will spread out the ships. Instead of the starting ships in the Proving Grounds + the ones at the other beacons. We will deploy as many ships as we have players but they will be evenly spread around the entire arena. I am hoping that CCP will add a un piloted ship filter for the Overview but one can only dream.

ArrowScripted Events - It was apparent to the events team that the majority of the players ignored the scripted events with the exception of the Hidden Overseer and the Random Dramiel roaming the arena.

After some discussion with some of the participants, it was clear that they thought in most cases they were either not worth the reward(cause the rewards were secret) or they were traps by the Hunters. The hunters themselves were actually told to avoid any beacon with a scripted event. This was never told to the players so we will make sure its well known in some fashion or another. Unfortunately some Hunters were actually sighted at the scripted events anyway. So our job will be to make them a bit more transparent without completely spoiling it.

ArrowThe Rules changing/Rules being more clear - The on grid bookmarks was initially allowed but then changed during the event to reduce the effect of the large groups.

The fact the rules were changing in that way was not declared by any of the staff. It was also commented that some of the rules were not fully explained or some people were still lost. We will try to get the rules more explained to players when they register.

ArrowThe Large Blobs -This was the most common issue with Theomachy. This was expected to happen, but what was not expected was how many and how mobile they would be.

Going forward, the hunter team is going to ignore smaller groups and lone pilots will be utterly left alone, unless the lone wolf engages the Hunter then its fair game. We will have more resources dedicated to dealing with larger groups like we had originally said we would but the mobility was causing a bit of an issue. Brave might notice that we had a bunch of warp ins on them, our referee prober was re-directed towards probing out the tactical pings you guys were using.

This is not the final list of feedback we have gotten from Theomachy, but like I might have said, we have done this event twice in the past and each time I have re-iterated on rules/mechanics and such to reduce issues. The 5 min no pod rule was added after one of our guys in the first event was podded in 2minutes of the event starting. All constructive criticism is received and I will be looking at it and updating the event to adapt. If you have any comments or suggestions that was not raised in the Theomachy feedback form, feel free to send me evemail.

I know I said this event will be yearly, we are most likely going to have the event closer than that so we can avoid it being as close to the AT as it is. That might have caused problems with participation as well.

See you all at the next one and remember the Overseers are always watching.

Those of you who participated in the event will remember the hunter team with good and bad memories.. :)

I was the lead for the hunter team; my main order and directive was to break up the large groups... Some smaller groups and solo players did fall victim to hunter group if they had the misfortune of landing on grid while the hunter group was disbatching or breaking up a larger group.

In total the hunter group only podded 30-40 players. However, the bubbles we dropped and some ships we destroyed did enable pods to be stranded and as a result players podded stranded pods in the total amount of about 100. This was on purpose as of the half way point less than half of the players had been podded.

This event was always intended to be evolving;: rules, engagement requirements and hunters... It was meant to mirror EVE and the hunger games and hopefully reflect the harsh challenges of both environments.

There are definitely some improvements to be made; and next year hopefully we can provide an even better experience.

I've several ideas on how to improve the requirements to crack down on groups and increase play ferocity ; the big part was being able to communicate the changes more clearly... This will be the biggest area of improvement in the next event; and hopefully lead to a smoother experience.

Just my thoughts on the event

Well since the event is over I'll share my half of this. I was the FC for (I think) the largest group of players during Theomachy. Our combined Spectre/Brave group had 44 people to begin with, which was probably a little bit excessive. Anyway, we were able to hold down one of the ship caches very early, and pod a large number of players almost immediately while denying useful ships to everyone else. This gave us a HUGE advantage early on. If you hadn't put SO MANY ships in one place, we would never have gained such a large initial advantage. Almost our entire 40 man fleet got into a hodgepodge of cruisers and battlecruisers almost immediately, with three exequrors and a nestor. Yeah, we weren't going to die. Moral of that story: spread out the ship more.... a lot more

Lastly, and this is kinda the funny part that you guys didn't pick up on - want to know how we knew you were hunting us? Because you were streaming it. All of it. We had two guys watching the various streams reporting where the overseers and hunters were at almost all times. When you focused on us, we would split up into two or three various groups until we'd shaken your tail, and then form back up as a group. Wasn't easy, no, but once we got the hang of it we were pretty much golden and free of harassment. When overseers started podding, we no longer had to fight the players ourselves, so we just took the cowards way out and reshipped into stabbed MWD frigates. Moral of that story, don't put stabs on any of the ships, force players to kill players, and don't discuss who/when/how you're hunting on live stream.

IIRC we got 17 people into the top 30, but no one in the top 10.

Can't shoot blues if you don't have any. Long Live NPSI.

I'm confused.. how the hell did you know what was being done, when the following are true:

a) all three streams were from cameras, not overseers..

b) No comms were being relayed

and C) no discussion was done on the stream about overseers?

Every time I landed on you guys, you split. I was not an overseer, nor was lorcas or Sindel. LOL

EDIT: Just in case anyone is confused, I was the primary streamer (with the lagged out stream apparently). I wasn't an overseer, nor was I part of the event staff. Just streaming.

Jayne Fillon, I watched the entire Brave perspective stream and I heard you say alot you guys think you were ruining the event. We told you to use everything you could find, and you used our own troll fits against us, for that I have to say good job. Some players might have been annoyed with the blob but you guys were extremely well organized.

Just to avoid further confusion, Let me set the record straight re; Streamers.

Streamers were not giving intel to Overseers/Hunter team, at all. In fact, we were actually hoping Hunters/Overseers would give us locations to warp to so we could stream the *fights*.

That's all we were there for.. Hell we were in cloaky/nullified Tech 3's with no weapons.. just a tank. Worst I could have done is TP one of you guys.

So i'm rather confused as to how you guys figured that the streams == overseer point of view, when our jobs were simply to find the fights and stream that.. not act as an intel tool for the staff.

I gotta give props to the fact you guys had someone viewing us.. I figured it out almost immediately landing on you guys 3 times and seeing y'all split up not 30 seconds afterwards. Props to you.

I wasn't the one watching the streams, so I don't know precisely how the information was found out, but in the middle of the event I was receiving updates about what the overseers were doing. We knew that one of the overseer Tengus (Sindel, I think?) was following our fleet almost exclusively. As far as I know, the information that was being relayed to me came from a text convo that was displayed on the stream, not over voice comms. I wasn't the one watching the streams, and I still haven't seen them even now, but I can tell you the information that I was receiving was very accurate and helped us avoid overseer death on multiple occasions. That's not even mentioning the free intel about what was going on elsewhere in the system at the other beacons.

Sounds like the info was coming from twitch chats (Not mine, as I was moderating it) and those aren't visible on everyone's stream if you were watching from the theomachy.com/stream/ page.

I was also in a tengu and I was following you guys (half-assed attempts honestly, i was looking for fights, we all were) so it could have been either one of us. Meh.. that'll be dealt with next time. :)
