Thinking about moving into a wormhole

I've been thinking about trying out wormholes for a long time now and I've been thinking about moving down that road.

I figure C2s would probably be my best to start off with but I'm not sure if it's profitable enough to be worth it. I was thinking of looking for a C2-C2-LS hole but I'm not sure what kind of traffic those get and if it'd be really common for people to just show up and push me out.

I've never done anything with wormholes before so to build up to this I think I'm gonna start daytripping and get a good feel for it.

I've got two accounts, both with scanning skills but focused in other areas of the game as well. Is 2 accounts enough to live solo in a wormhole or would I need more?

2 is the bare minimum, and you should always leave one in the hole so you cannot get trapped out. C2 is very bad income. It's also incredibly easy to clear the sites, so you won't lose ships to sleepers if you have any competency at all. The real concern is that C2 space is relatively active. This means that you're likely to get attacked while running your sites, which would of course cost you time, money and emotion.

That said, C2>C2/Losec is a good starting point for going solo. A C2>C3/Hisec would probably make you more money, but those are also more difficult to find empty.

Good luck, and feel free to hit me up with questions. It's always nice to have more bros in wormholes.

Yeah, well, it's just like my opinion, man.

Thanks for the info. Is tengu the standard option for C3 solo sites or is there other alternatives? Trying to stay away from ammo eating ships like a tengu.

I was thinking of joining a WH corp but I prefer to play solo. Everytime I join a corp I just feel like I'm not contributing and prefer to go do my own thing.

There are a few corps out there that support the solo guy. If you can scan and add to the siggy chain then your contributing. Isogen 5 has been recruiting iirc. Very cool bunch of dudes and new bro friendly.

For that matter, INSRT is recruiting as well. We very much appreciate and support solo explorers such as yourself.

As for the best ship for a C3, I personally like the Tengu. You're right about the ammo concerns, but the tank on the tengu makes it the standard.

Plenty of other ships can do the job. It really depends on how you like to play and what you have skills for. I like to use the dominix alot, but I have great sentry drone skills. Of course, using sentries means no ammo concerns, but then you have to worry about losing your drones. Sleepers love to shoot drones, especially sentries.

A paladin would be overkill for a C3, but would run them very quickly and use basically no ammo. There are alot of options, it just comes down to whatever you like to fly.

Oh and again, INSRT is recruiting *ahem*

You can use a laser legion for C3s if you're so poor that ammo cost is a problem for you.

If thuggin' was a category I'd win a Grammy

It's not the cost it's the time. Needing more ammo means hauling more crap into the wormhole. If I have limited playtime on a day, i'd prefer to do sites or explore other wormholes rather than doing ammo runs.

There's this weird thing called industry.

Or alts, or corpmates. There're plenty of ways around it. Luckily for your lazy ass Legions are p good, just not as good as Tengus.

I with Jester on using a Legion. And if time/ammo is a concern putting up an ammo array is easy and you can make more ammo then you know what to do with.

Legion however has lazor power, bring in 10 sets of T2 lenses and your set for a real long time.

Well I appreciate your point a lot more than Jester's simply because of the lack of personal attack in your wording.

I hadn't thought about manufacturing the ammo myself.

Sorry, if I don't know someone and they're overly rude for no real reason then I'm going to ignore most of their advice. It's not hard to be civil on the internet.

while a T3 will do C3 sites very efficiently, I'd recommend you start off practicing with something a bit cheaper so you can get the feel of how it works.

It's always fun to suddenly have a dictor and 3 other ships land on top of you >.>

It's always kind of cute when the newcomers to this forum meet the village idiots. You don't know if to laugh at the both of them or feel sorry for one of them, but you can never quite tell which.
