Everytime someone quits eve the icelandic government takes a note from which country he is so they can raid it in the postapocalyptic future when they have returned to their old viking ways.

Please, think of your country.

Stupidity should be a bannable offense.

Fighting back is more fun than not.

All of this over a 30mil kill...in nullsec...in a defenceless covert ops ship Sad

You didn't think that they would catch you at some point?

I'm sorry that you had such a bad experience, but if someone is roaming and brings the right ships, you will get popped.

If this is the kill I am looking at, you were against a Daredevil, Stilletto, and a Sabre. Tough luck, really Ugh

I can understand that losing an Anathema when you are just a couple of months into the game must hurt. You probably worked hard for the ISK.

I also totally respect your decision to rage quit. You aren't the first and won't be the last.

But if you do come back at some point, hopefully these couple of points help:

1. While the T2 covops ships gain bonuses, if you are going to nullsec, T1s are cheaper and less likely to cause an emotional response. Ships are just tools and disposable.

2. Sometimes even in a cloaky ship, there is nothing you can do. If you spawn on grid within 2km of anything, your cloak won't work. Sometimes network lag affects activation of your cloak. Crap happens. But your ship is just a tool and disposable anyway. Easy enough to replace.

3. You'll actually learn a lot more and be a better player for it, if you accept 100% of the responsibility for the loss and figure out what you can do next time, to avoid the same situation. In every case, there are things that can be done different, that would have led to no loss. That makes you a better player in the long run.

4. It's not the fault of the guys that killed you. They have nothing personally against you. They didn't kill you because they hate you or anything. They are just playing the game and having fun.

Anyway. Best of luck in the future.

@OP - This is the best advice you got here, so far, if you want to play the game and have fun. You don't like it, right? You think is CCP fault and you will get the advice that agree with you as a good one. It's your decision to make: either you will fail at EVE and go play other game that suits more your style or learn, evolve, adapt and have lots of fun on this game.

@Scipio - Congrats on the very helpful, honest, unbiased and polite posts.Cool

I want to add something to this...

Don't fly what you can't afford to replace. There are variations to this, depending on your corp and such, but generally as a new player you should remember that rule.

Not only will it lessen the blow if you lose the ship (which from your post, it seems that you took it a bit personally), but you can go back to your home system and have some cash to put towards replacing/grinding the cash back up again.

You shot my exploration ship for no reason.

From now on, I will tell everyone who askes, to stay away from this game.

I know this is wrtitten in a moment of anger, but when you can not even feel safe in a cloaked covert ops ship, with covert ops cloaking, there is no meaning to try.

I had no chance to get out of gate cloak and in to my own, because I got targetet so fast.

And if that is how it workes, i´m out.

Gl to all, and you can give me all your reasons, I still do not think, that is how cloaked exploring should work.

If that all it takes to chase you away from the game, you should have never started playing EVE in the first place..

To come back to this thread with a semi serious response, I don't understand how people get to a point where they are completely baffled that someone shot them without any provocation. You get a massive warning that low sec and null sec are dangerous the very first time you go there. Players there are hostile. How is this hard to understand?

And even if PVP wasn't the main driving force of this game; this is the internet. People will inherently find ways to make life miserable for others, just because they can.

If you don't like that or can't accept the fact that every player in EVE is a potential threat then this is not the game for you.

Insta-lockers are a pain in the ass for anyone to deal with. Hell, I have Stiletto and Claw fits that reach warp faster than the server ticks, and I still get caught from time to time. It is what it is.

That being said, can I have your stuff?

I lost a crow to an instalock one shot one kill Loki recently. This was probably the look on my face and I was not the one smiling.

Hopefully, amidst the trolling, a point emerges from this thread that gate mechanics suck and letting ships dial in warps the way it's done in basic sci fi from Star Wars to Star Trek would do much to jazz up the game and retain players. Funneling (forcing) players through kill zones and then telling them "they need to double their sub cost" with a scout looks like a scam to normal people and they move on. If gates were so wonderful, why are the big alliances using JFs and JB networks?

Just to be clear here.

Anything goes in 0.0.

I have never traveled through 0.0 expecting "not" to be popped.

+1 for the Mother of Dragons taking it doggy style, although the expression on her face suggests Khal Drogo missed the pink and potted the brown.

I lost a Heron with 145 million ISK worth of Data Site loot to a Scythe.
And I still play.

You died because you obviously do not know the game mechanics. And people shot you for laughs, and now you're giving the twats satisfaction by raging like the kid you are on the forums. It's good to have you gone, we'll get rid of one less crybaby who's sobbing over a CovOps ship.

PS: If you ever get your head out of your butt and want to seek revenge, find a stealth bomber and kill the f*ckers.

Edit: If you had a CovOps ship with a CovOps cloak, you could ACTUALLY warp while cloaked and you could never have to worry about gankers again.
