Corporation Enhancements

We are seing industry changes with Crius, many other changes will probably come too (WHs are the next), but nothing related to corporations in sight.. (at least, from a player view).

But, we are in the CCP days where "all old crap stuff must change and other stuff must be improved" (not a bad idea at all for some stuff), and corporations is one of those that need real changes.


Let's speak about roles and titles :

  • they are non intuitive and complicated (who were ever able to set new roles / title without having to search into the wiki to find what they were looking for)
  • they are really restrictive in what we can do
  • it's just painful headache when we have to deal with them...


What I think is required :

  • Having tooltips on roles to have a short explanation of what it does (eg. "Accountant" -> "Full access to assigned wallet divisions, pay bills, view transaction log and search in assets")
  • Being able to see ALL ROLES in the window without having to expand 2 times the window and to change 6 times using a combo box to select the type of roles...
  • Tabs and no more combo box !
  • More title slots (I don't need them all, but I know people who do...)
  • Add the ability to set "Base at" on member in POS, and not only stations, since we can't anymore start jobs with BPO in station into a POS.
  • Grant the ability to set specific roles on specific structures (eg. grant "Starbase Fuel Technician" on a POS to a member for personnal use, but not on another POS)
  • Add "required roles" on POS Structures description
  • Create a "Use POS Structures" role to be able to use arrays, labs etc, without having to give the "Starbase Fuel Technician" or "Config Starbase Equipment" role.



Votes :

  • The UI need some improvement : each time you vote, all votes collapse. Many and many clicks are required just to vote twice...
  • Allow to run votes for less than 24 hours for some type of votes (blueprint unlock for example, as it still need the CEO to finally unlock it.
  • Allow people to lock more than 1 BPO at a time



Member management :

  • We can see in API the last logon/logoff date of a member and we can only see "last week" "last month" "more than a month" in game. We need to be able to see the exact "last login" date, like the API as "more than a month" can be 1month and 1 day or 12 months.
  • We have to click on each member, doing "edit member" to grant them roles or titles. When we have to edit just 1 member, it's fine, but when we have to deal with more than 10 members, it takes hours. We need a window where we can set roles / titles on all member at once, without having to open 100 "edit member" windows.



Other ideas

  • More characters in corporation bulletin
  • New post (in bulletin) notification to members
  • View container content in corp assets (like player assets)


I think there are much more to improve, but that's all I can see for now.

You gotta keep in mind -- they've moved to "we're shipping it when it's ready" instead of "expansion every 6 months!"


Kronos was originally planned as a typical expansion -- was going to be all the stuff we got in Kronos, plus the stuff we got in Crius. CCP realized that the Indy stuff was not in a good place and pushed it back to Crius.

Now, with Hyperion, the next "finished" things are the wormholes, so they're going in.


Corporations (and POS) are on the roadmap, and (Fanfest hype, anyway) are scheduled to be soon(tm).

That said, I partially agree with your roles comments - the combobox -> tabs and tooltips would be nice additions, but are low on my list of "wants". I'd personally rather see them made a lot more versatile / less godawful to work with.

Votes -- agree wholeheartedly.

Member Management --> been a long time since I've messed with that, I thought it was possible through the member listings in the corp window (although, that might have just been "roles" and not "titles").

Other -> meh.

What i would love to see there is the ability to create custom hangars and wallets, without being limited to a given number.

Some project could use an own wallet and an own hangar, so a set of people can work on that together. Yet the limit to just those few given hangar and wallet slots makes this hard.

I for sure could use more than those few hangar and wallets slots available for our guys. You could be way more flexible with access rights then. As right now i have to stuff everything into those few hangars we have there.


Besides that i agree that the roles need to become more intuitive, maybe even do away with them, and try some sort of permissions instead, so i can create my own roles.

For example someone who can use the POS industrie lines, without having all the other rights to shut them down, or cancel the jobs of others.

To allow anchoring of arrays and towers, but not the unanchoring.

There are many little things, that i feel the current roles are way too generic for, way too restrictive. I'd love to put my own titles roles together and being allowed to be really specific... as in

Member can
-Use POS Arrays for industrie jobs/research
-Can set Standings for the corp
-Can delete and update corporation bookmarks
-Can use the POS guns
-Can online and offline the POS guns and the arrays

But is unable to:
-access a corp wallet
-to offline the POS tower itself


To just be way more flexible, to grant single permissions, without having a "group" of them at once. For me as a CEO, the current system brought me lots of headaches already. Not to mention that we have way too few title slots, the only current way to create somewhat of an own role structure.

For me i would love to see:
-Permissions for every part of a corporation and POS - split up even into allowing to do one thing, but not the opposite (good example as state above the anchoring of POS towers and arrays, but not the unanchoring of them)
-The ability to create groups of those permissions, i can then directly assign to a given member.
-Info screens for the member where i see all the permissions/groups they have and are in, that also allows edditing of it
-getting rid of the titles all together, as they are not needed anymore with those groups of permissions, also allow the creation for as many permission groups as you want
-able to create as many sub hangars as i want.. maybe even sub hangars of subhangars, comparable to file folder structures. Complete with the same permissions i have for folder structures. Able to give read only, modify or even full access (can give other members access to just this "sub folder" the user has full access to.
-same goes for corporation Wallets.


All in all some sort of "being an administrator" feeling to all of the corp management. Things you can do on any computer system, be it linux or windows. (never used MacOS, but i bet they have something like this as well).
