Hi everyone, I've know about the Alliance Tournament for a while and have been briefed on the who's who of teams. Like Hydra Reloaded and Pandemic Legion, The Huns, Triumvirate ect, ect. However I do not know many of the pilots.

I believe if the Eve Tournament is to be successful outside the Eve community we need to put a human face to the game. Guys like.

Johnathan "Fatal1ty" Wendel - From various shooter game tournaments

Lee "Flash" Young Ho - StarCraft

Danylo "Dendi" Ishutin - Dota 2

.........................................................................................

So who are the guys to watch in this tournament?

I remember a few names my friends have told me about, like

Garmon
Shamis Orzoz
Black Horizon
Starfleet Commander
DHB WildCat
Wargod

.................

But thats only from one source. So if anyone can help me out about players, I think it would make watching the matches even more enjoyable.

Fatal1ty was the first one to properly monetize his fame/name AFAIK. He had definetly more influence than cooller.

I think the people you name are probably the most recognizable.

But I think the AT doesn't lend itself much to this. There really isn't much pilot exposure, and unlike say dota2 which is obviously also a team effort, you can't really see individual actions much.

The best AT equivalences I can think of is the logi not ******* up, and small ship pilots not ******* up.

I mean maybe if there where lots of expositions of AT pilots and their teams, knowledge about individual pilots could become common place. But (sadly) the AT and eve tournaments aren't big enough. A unsettling amount of eve players simply don't care about tournaments for whatever reason.

And unlike say dota, eve isn't actually set up to be a e-sport.

Often commentators will point out common pilots or their alts which is a good thing and in line with what you are talking about. But I just don't think there is enough coverage in the rest of the year for people to really get interested.
