Unable to get my API and ID to Evemon and Neocom

I must be doing something wrong. I went to my API management page and copied and pasted my ID and verification Code to both Evemon and Neocom and both showed my character's avatar...the picture and the name but no data was transferred to either program.

Has anyone else had this problem? I have been away from Eve for over a year and need to take all the basic tutorial missions again...but am using my old character...

Thanks for any help.

Did you select any data to be loaded into the API while you were creating them?

In other words, were all the bars "yellow-orange-ish"?

it isn't instantaneous, the data may take some time to transfer, security and all that you know

i'm pretty sure the API has been borked along with the rest of the game for some people for most of today.

i know for a fact a pilot in my corp got killed twice in game late last night/this morning, yet the kills still aren't on any killboards, despite the killer having his API on them.
