Over/under on how much Effective Incursion Income is being nerfed....

with Hyperion.

From seagull's new dev blog:

"Run the revamped Scout Sites while waiting for bigger incursion fleets to form. Hyperion also brings other changes to the enemies and rewards from Incursion sites. Stay tuned for a dev blog."

Cool that scout sites are being altered.

But as soon as the words "other changes to enemies and rewards from Incursion sites" are typed, you KNOW that means a nerf in effective income, be it a straight nerf to income, or mechanics changed to make the sites longer to finish, or both.

So the question is, what is the over / under on how much of a nerf in effective income Incursion runners are facing?
10%, 20%, 50%?

I am going with a 25% nerf.

Guessing you missed the link? https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=4900959

Quote:

Assault systems for Incursions will now never be just NCNs. At most NCNs can only take up 50% of the sites.
The re-spawn time between an incursion ending and it re-spawning has been lowered.
Scout site rewards, and spawns, have been re-balanced.

So ready to feel screwed over that you jump to bad conclusions. Wow, never saw that coming from you Dinsdale.....

(fake edit: yes I did).

I did not miss any link.
I read about the changes to the NCN wall a long time ago, and the rumblings specific to scout sites also a long time ago.
This comment from seagull is something additional.

hopefully its an ISK nerf paired with a substantial LP buff. if the industry changes are anything to go by, CCP wants to buff the crap out off all the ISK sinks in game.

A 40-50% nerf to highsec incursion income from the Vanguard and larger sites, alongside a 30-40% buff to lowsec and non-sov null (leave sov null incursions as they are, they are safer than lowsec/non-sov null ones), and a sizable buff to highsec scout sites, would be the right risk/reward balance overall.

I have been trying to get people together for lowsec incursion sites, and noone is willing to even consider it because highsec just pays so much more ISK/hr.

I don't think we will see the right fix here. I'm going to guess highsec incursion income will drop 10-15%, and this will not be enough to make non-high incursions appeal.

Personally, I'd really be curious to see official numbers on whether/how much nullies are taking advantage of all these buffs being dealt to them (like the whole mining buff and recent reprocessing buffs). Not anecdotal blogger numbers, but real historical numbers from CCP. I have a feeling it would be a good laugh. Cool

Yeah for 40-50 mil/h I wouldnt waste capacitor for ship lights let alone acctualy run incursions why bother missions are better with less hassle.

If there is a nerf but not substantial improvement in AI it will just push ppl away az yet another boring and low paying game mechanic.

Looking forward to see where scout sites land as well as assaults changes.

when people feel that they can run multibillion isk pimp-mobiles risk free there is something wrong imo.

that said Incursion payout has to be somewhat high otherwise people won't run them. I don't really find vanguards worth my time as I have to go somewhere around 20 jumps, run for a night, and the next day they are probably somewhere else. And that is assuming I even get into a fleet. people don't usually run HQs when I play. I will probably give them another shot now as I just fixed my standings so I can go wherever,

Nobody except large lowsec corps are willing to run lowsec incursions as the large lowsec corps will destroy you and then run it

1) If you pay for a multibillion isk tank, it had better feel like it
2) Ask around for SRP data and I think you'll find that HQ sites are anything but "risk-free"
