Some Advice Please.
I have just placed a buy out bid on a character, which was accepted and posted as “sold” on the forum. Then two minutes later someone else put a higher bid on the forum and then he posted that it was sold to him ?
Is this an acceptable way of selling a character?

THere is no binding contract until the seller accepts the isk and completes the transfer, The seller can even accept isk, and return it all and sell to someone else for less if they so want.
Unlike Ebay the only binding part is once accepted isk then the transfer must happen or the isk returned.. nothing more.

Rule 11. Can we have it changed plz. I dont see why the toon needs to be in an npc corp while you are selling it. This can be a pain. If your in a 0.0 alliance and drop a toon to sell you basically cant continue to use the toon while you are selling which can be a long time. You also may change your mind. I could understand if you could transfer the toon without being in npc but you cant. This is now the second time ive tried to sell a toon which I still use and kept in corp but had the thread locked.

Im with you on this one, and the fact that the listing whilst in corp can be such a hit a miss, some ISD dont lock, some do, Fact is from listing to selling can be anything upwards of 4 weeks..
Taking an industry toon (and nullsec one) from the corp to wait a month basically means he becomes almost unplayable, and as you said given that the toon CANNOT be transferred whilst being in corp it seems a waste of time from both players, and ISD points of view managing the rule.

If this rule cannot be changed then can a DEV/ISD please explain the reasoning behind the rule given the lock on toons being transferred whist in corp

wel im not isd orso but I can tell ya the reason

the reason is simple, if ya sell ya char within ya current corp/alliance it can be bought yust for awoxing/spying/robbing that corp/alliance

some ppl in the corp/alliance might not even know the char has been sold etc

the npc corp rule make's it abit safer

can we get rid of "ingame bids?" its just an easy way for players to hike up the bidding with fake "ingame" bids

What if after i buy a character from the seller, he tells CCP his account is stolen and want to get the character back?
Am i going to lose all the isk used to buy the character?
And seriously, is this going to be happened?

Could an information be added somewhere, regarding issue with performing character transfer on MacOSX using Safari browser?
With such OS/browser combination, it's not possible to click on the character to be transferred, during character transfer process.
It works perfectly fine with Firefox on MacOSX, something must be broken with web code, making it non-working in Safari...

If it has not already been done, can it please be publicized, maybe in this thread, that the character transfer tool does not work with Safari.

I had to download firefox to make the transfer go through, and I expect it led to some concern on the buyers part as it took me a while to figure it out!

Edit: lol, the guy above me got to it first

But you have to be in an NPC corp to actually perform the transfer, you also have to send your corp an email to sell you've sold it. So that doesnt work either. No point trying to circumvent as you can't scam or circumvent with a char transfer.

Its a stupid ******** rule, it should only state the char must be NPC when the transfer happens. End of.

Question, i recently sold a character but mistakenly forgot to transfer a valuable item asset to an alt. I do have an ingame evidence log which proves that the item belongs to my account before the sale went through and that i intended to transfer it via contract. Here is the catch, the item's worth is over 100b+ and the rule dictates that a character that is being sold cannot posses a significant value assets, any valuable asset must be remove. Has anyone ever had problem with GMs not returning valuable assets to the previous owner? Yes i have already submitted a petition with concise description of the situation.

So, I been trying to find an answer to this question, but haven't seen one yet.

Can you pay the transfer fee with PLEX Bought in-game? In other words, I sell character X to character Y, Y pays me the asking ISK price, I then buy 2 PLEX to pay for the transfer. Is that OK/Acceptable/By the Rules?

Thanks :)

Need some assistance pls :)

Do I have to give this isk back or does CCP compensate the party in question as this issue is not mentioned anywhere?

Link as follows in char sales: Char mistake / mishap etc

Advise pls cause I either got lucky or am getting banned :(

Greetings,

Was wondering how long it takes before a ticket involving a character scam will get adressed to.

Involves this char: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=382316&find=unread

Ticket was created 5 days ago, and as of now, still no response.

Does jump fatigue stay with a character. If so can we now have a rule that the amount of jump fatigue must be disclosed.

AKA the scientist.

Death and Glory!

Well fun is also good.
