I know im going to have alot of trolls on this topic, but its serious starting to anoid me.

Iv been around for 7 years now, and the ammount of good people who cant afford to play EVE with RL money work hard to buy a plex on the market.

To many buy the scam contracts where you buy a plex for a plex + 30m below plex prise.

The issue here is people falling for those scams could become or are good players and part of the game, but stop playing as they more or less lose everything they have to pay for next months sub and cannot manage to make enough isk in time to buy a new plex.

PLEX in public contracts should no be allowed.

I dont mind scamming and people being stupid, but i do mind the ammount of players online.

EDIT: On PUBLIC contracts

I think what you mean to ask for is no public contracts for PLEX. Private contracts for PLEX are a mainstay for moving PLEX around between accounts (i.e. you buy the PLEX with a market alt, and contract them to each of your multiple accounts). So, NO to your suggestion, as written.

Your right, private contracts should be alright, its the public scam contracts which are a problem.

@ Shimiku, for you and me it might be, but for to many its not, a scam is a scam after all, and people wouldnt use this scam if they didnt make money on it. Problem is often, when they do make their ISK someone else stop playing, which is bad for the game overall.

You can't patch reading comprehension.

Besides, I know more than a few people besides myself who sell those legitimately.

Well why sell them on contracts legit when you can sell them on the market, regardless buyer have to go to station o pick it up, even in 0.0 where i assume more would be seen on legit contracts

Because the market has a tax associated with it, while contracts have considerably less in fees. Same reason you would (and should) station trade them, save that you can do it over great distances and don't have to be online to sell it.

So, I have a question for you. What's wrong with scamming?

Nothing is wrong with scamming, but something is wrong with scamming with PLEX as it have people stop playing, when they lose everything. People often buy their plex once their sub is about to run out. Think they buy a plex on contract legit and get scammed often leave them with nothing left to pay for their subs.

Public contracts for plex seem to have a number of roles.

1. Scamming
2. Identifying a user who has just bought a plex or ten and blowing their arse up when they undock.Shocked
3. Can't think of any more.

If CCP believes it will affect their profitability, they will deal with it at a time of their choosing. Our opinions have no relevance, and until they do Jita local will stay as "delightful"What? as ever.

Top tip that every new player should be told, if there is a public contract in Local, or you can buy it in the market but it's a bargain contract, it never ends well for you.

But Those people have my sympathy, it sucks.

People quit from getting podded or getting their first ship blown up. People quit for many reason. Hard to say why this should be an exception.

Is that my two cents or yours?

And people would quit when getting WAR decced, those people wouldnt survive EVE anyway.

Here we are talking about people who cant afford it. Iv seen people who have playing 2 - 3 years podded many times, but falling for this scam, and just cant afford to resub for RL money.

PLEX is more or less equal RL money, and here is the different.

With complete honesty, if the loss of $15 is the tipping point, the problem isn't with EVE. I pay for my subs by not eating fast food, every two homecooked meals is one subscription paid for in my eyes. (I have five subs active at present)

And as for your last statement. PLEX is explicitly NOT real money. The game makes you sign, like five things saying that you understand that before you can even sign up for the game, and one before you buy a PLEX too.

Personally, I think it should stay as is. Caveat Emptor is important, after all.

So buying hotel and beer at FAN fest for PLEX is not like RL money....

I have had people getting divorced and have to move from house and loosing job at the same time, and last friendly circle was EVE which they couldnt play due to not being able to get plex in time.

i have 5+ accounts and i can afford it and pay my bills, but it makes me sad to see people stop playing because of an ISK issue and buy PLEX on market. Just look at the impact the high plex prise have right now, we have dropped from 55k users online to 35k users. I know summer is playing in, but not for 20k people.

The US and EU economic collaps a few years ago, people were depended on playing by plex. I gave god knows how many plex away in that period just to keep good members online and able to play.

Woah there. Concurrency has absolutely nothing to do with plex prices. Look at yearly trends going forward from Incarna (you can't go further back since Incarna effed up everything about the game's demographics).

This is pretty much normal. Every single year people agitate about concurrency, and every single year it means jack all when Fall rolls around.

And PLEX prices are what people are willing to pay for them. If it's too high, don't buy them. Clearly, the demand is there, which puts the lie to "it's too expensive", because if it truly were, then the price would go down.

I do sympathize with any friends you may have lost from the game. But real life is what it is.

Fair enough, PLEX prises and demand has nothing to do with scamming on contracts, i agree. Even though plex have gone up from 360 to 785.
