How About Dallas / Fort Worth Area Players?

Is there a Dallas group that meets? I see there is one in Austin - are they just more cool there or what?

If not, should we setup a meetup group, time, and location?

there's a group on facebook for it, but it's been VERY inactive for like the last 3-4 months. Other then that I'd love to have a meetup, in Mesquite myself.

Arydanika in Austin who runs the Voices from the Void podcast, and coordinates the Austin meetup group tells me she thinks a new DFW meetup would be a great idea, and would even come up and join us when we have a time and location setup.

She also recommended setting up a meetupgroup.com account for it.

Perhaps we could shoot for something sometime after the holidays - January, or even February in a crunch. Then I suppose setup a location with a wireless lan for those who have craptops that can run eve, unless someone has a residence or location appropriate for setting up a good desktop lan. A university library might be an option.

Sounds good to me! BTW, I'm in the Garland area and love beer, so I would recommend a place with "Adult Beverages". Haven't flown a spaceship without a beer in my hand yet! :) Maybe thats why I fly so badly. Oh well.

It seems to me that beer is going to be on the agenda. So I took the liberty of checking if The Old Monk on Henderson near 75 has wi-fi for anyone who wants to brings laptops.

And they do. You want beer, cider, rum, or even pretty good food, the Old Monk pub has it all and then some...they also have big tables inside or on the patio if the weather is nice. Weekend nights are very busy there though.

I'm open for other suggestions on location if anyone knows of a perfect one.

But I think its time to make it happen perhaps late next month. I will see how we can let as many Dallas area eve players as possible know about a tentative gathering. Then we can just set a date and see who shows up. :)

I always used to go to the Angry Dog, in Deep Ellum. I'm pretty sure they have WiFi too.

i would love too meet up with yall there is the Fox and The Hound off of midway and 190 or george bush tollway. plus there is many orther good spots too also there is Chuy's in Dallas in a nice area also great drink and fun atmosphere too. There is just tons of places in Plano from springcreek all they way down to plano pkwy. to be at plus off of preston rd too there is also places off of legacy rd. and the dallas north tollway plus in frisco too. just let me know where on the forums cause i do not have facebook or tweeter or twits or what ever it is. all i have is the forums. the last dallas meet was soo far south into Dallas it was rediculus.

Its over in northeast/central dallas. They got hotdogs and beer on tuesdays....hotdAWgs! And half off pizza on sundays - two possibly good days. I am going to go down there and check it out this evening and will post a report.

Anyone been there?
