Balanced Solo PVP = Duel's only at this time and they are not balanced.... let me challenge a freighter for the win.

duels are entirely consensual. its about as fair as PvP gets. use a trusted third party to hold money and you can make wagers against each other.

i think half of your problems would be solved once off grid boosting gets removed and/or gets you a suspect flag (or just get rid of boosting already). But dishonorable play or the option to be dishonorable is part of eves core gameplay. Part of the thrill of PvP is not knowing your enemies exact capabilities, or playing the meta game to better your odds. Thinking outside the box and all that.

But i wouldnt mind some mechanic that creates gated areas like FW sites and DED plexes in hi-sec. Even better if everyone inside goes suspect or gets a limited engagement with everyone else.

but no, it shouldnt be a case of guaranteed 1v1 with no interruptions or backhanded play. if you create the space yourself and others have to probe it down, what are the chances that two ppl genuinely seeking a 1v1 will be interrupted anyways?

EVE FAQ "7.2 CAN I AVOID PVP COMPLETELY? No; there are no systems or locations in New Eden where PvP may be completely avoided"
