New CCP Competition and Nullsec Conflict Driver

How about CCP create a new competition /conflict driver? Basically a random nullsec constellation is picked (a live watchable event) and whichever Alliance can hold and defend the whole constellation for three months from the starting date wins the competition, are crowned champions and gain prizes similar to ones given out in the current Alliance Tournament. It might even create internal drama between coalition alliances who want to claim the crown.

A new competition can start every six months even if the previous competition hasn't yet been completed by anyone.

Members of winning Alliances can be given a medal and a monument can be erected in the system held the longest as a permanent reminder of the victory.

The tournament could be named something like Sovereignty Wars and epeen and bragging rights along with shiney prizes will create a permanent conflict driver for nullsec and end 'blue donuts'.

So anybody else think this crazy idea has legs?

This sounds exactly like a Player Driven Event - nothing prevents anyone to do this - there is no need at all to include CCP or any added game mechanic at all - just go and do it.

This belongs to the ingame events forum.

I disagree. Players cannot conjure up limited edition ships as prizes or erect permanent monuments as reminders of the victory.

A CCP endorsed event hold far more appeal then any player organised event and like I said it may even help end the current stagnation in nullsec that I keep hearing so much about.

We don't need this at all. If players are playing the game to have special ships they can compete in the tournament. If they want a monument erected in their name, their egos are to big. Not only that but 3 months of doing nothing but fight over 1 area sounds extremely boring and most people would compete maybe once if at all.

Actually most people wouldn't bother to compete once the CFC and PL/N3 parked 2,000 caps and supers within jump distance of the area. They could just take turns passing the trophy back and forth.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

Why has there always be a price for something. I like this idea make a special ship for this.

When you like this idea go for it and start it but don“t say i got an idea ccp make something and give it a good reward.
