I like how most of you are saying that an afk cloaky camper can't hurt you. Apparently you have never been hotdropped. The fact you can instantly drop as much combat power on my unarmed ships at any moment you choose doesn't even make sense. It is terribly unbalanced.

And I do appreciate that so many of you are annoyed by this post but are still taking time to follow it and post. It is a little cloaky camper payback for me.

hi, remember this?

I'm making a slightly off topic (but still related) observation:

You don't start your eve day by trying to make everyone else completely miserable.
More people pay to play the game.
More people are hired to work on the game.
You get better gameplay.

or

You DO try to make everyone miserable.
All the people who get tired leave.
You watch the game you love decline until it goes offline.
No fun for you or the "carebears"

If that is your objective why not stop now.

Hotdropping and AFK Cloaking are 2 completely different things.

You can hotdrop OR you can AFK Cloak.

You cant do both by LITERAL DEFINITION.

But Unsuccessful.. that's wrong! AFK Cloaker can hotdrop you!

Bull****. A person who is cloaked cant activate ANYTHING. A person who isn't even at their keyboard cant activate ANYTHING. An AFK Cloaked person is both of those combined..meaning an AFK Cloaked person cant do ANYTHING.. well, anything besides PLAY WITH YOUR IMAGINATION. Playing with your imagination of course isn't against any rules at all..or even in the game mechanics.. or the EULA.. or the ToS.. or the law.. so.. yeah. Your honor, he played with my imagination! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHa..HA.

If you've been hotdropped by an AFK Cloaker, please, tell me how he did it..while cloaked..and AFK..

The only way that it could happen.. is if.. Dramatic music HE ISNT AFK!!!!!! If he isn't AFK, then hes just a cloaker.. An active cloaky hunter.

An active hunter cloaker is different from an AFK Cloaker. How? Im glad you asked! You see.. while the active hunter cloaker also cant use any modules while hes cloaked, he can still warp around, use d-scan, talk in local, do all the things..except activate a module..until he uncloaks and kills you. An AFK Cloaker..cant so any of these things.. hes not even at the keyboard.. hes making a sandwich, watching Netflix, diddling his/her significant other.. all while youre in station, docked up, rocking back and forth holding your knees and repeating "cant undock, the neut will get me, cant undock, the neut will get me, cant undock, the neut will get me" or running to the forums and telling everyone how a grey square is keeping you from playing your game somehow.

Wait, why am I even trying to talk common sense in yet another AFK Cloaker thread? The people who make them don't live in reality, or are botters.. and botters aren't people, theyre banhammer fodder.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

No, just more than a few renters.

If you're too yellowbellied to even try to play the game without a 100% guarantee that no one will be around to bother you, then quite frankly yes, you are playing EVE wrong.

Have you considered the fact that an actively hunting cloaker has the option to go absent for several hours and return to attack. It can happen!

If hes back.. then hes no longer AFK.. eliminating the whole AFK part of an AFK Cloaker.

Please decide whether or not your gripe is about AFK Cloakers or Cloaky Hotdroppers, because youre all over the place.

Honestly it's an easy fix (assuming it needs fixing).

AFK for too long? Get the boot back to character selection screen. Done.

Yes, why is everyone so against something as simple as that.

Feel free to cloak, Feel free to hotdrop, but be at the computer.

Relevent to OP

I sometimes have to go afk in wormholes. Do you want to guess how many people I've killed whilst I've been afk? It's precisely 0.

Do you know how many people stop running sites and POS up because I am afk? Oh wait that's right 9/10 times they don't know I am there... It's your own paranoria and your own stupidity that keep you from getting ISK.

On another note, how exactly do you know they're afk cloaking and not just hunting you while maintaining all silence?

Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. Doc spends that time collecting kittens for the on-going sacrifices, engaging in reckless outdoor activities, and speaking in the 3rd person."

People are right. If they are AFK then they can't do anything to you.

So, how do you know if they are AFK or not? Oh wait, you can't. That's what the problem is. That's what people are really trying to have changed. What people want is if someone is cloaked in system, you can assume they are not AFK because if they were they would be either no longer cloaked or simply no longer logged into their character in game.

I really fail to see how difficult this is to grasp.

How does that work? From your previous posts in this thread that statement is an oxymoron.

If he's at his computer then he may be providing a warp in for a hot drop, if he's not at his computer then there's absolutely no chance he will, or even can.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.
