Did you really just call for the ban of one of the few people here who isn't a consistent shitposter?

Down/dislike buttons are completely pointless, it would just be a new mini game.

I can support negreps, if there's a real point to it. If say, you end up with a certain ratio of negative to positive, you are shut out of the forums for a week, things might actually stop being so ridiculous around here.

Hence the mini game, some people would just down vote for the sake of it.

You might as well shut down the forums at that point since only one alliance would be allowed to speak…

or the forums turns into a circlejerk where unpopular if legitimate opinions are shut out, or the groupthink begins downvoting posts based solely on the poster's affiliation. leading to more bloody npc posting alts. this is precisely what's wrong with trying to have a serious discussion on ******* reddit, where you can/will be 'right' or 'wrong' based not on argument, but how popular you are or how funny the group thinks your snide and ultimately irrelevant one-liner is.

also gevlon goblin would never be able to post again which'd be a terrible detriment to unintentional internet comedy

Even positive votes are a waste of time really, if everyone voted sensibly then that wouldn't be the case, but that's never going to happen.

Pretty much. I wouldn't mind a bounty button as a kind of downvote, though… Twisted

The like system was thoroughly abused and is more pointless now than ever. But at least the web devs managed to lock the gate after all those horses left. Lol

Your idea suck, the forums have exactly what is needed for a forum to work.

Except that these forums are actually pretty terrible. They have a nasty tendency to drop long posts, for example (also losing the saved drafts). They don't allow linking back previous quotes. They don't remember certain user preferences.

there's actually a ccp employee whose job it is to ensure your long posts get "lost" on the way

linking quotes'd be so great, though

Didn't you know? Forums in 2014 are hard and need to be this bad.

All joking aside, yes these forums suck and they should feel bad about it. (Insert inanimate smiley.) Lol

This forum is kind of bland and doesn't provide nearly as many options as we should be able to have. I'm not trying to sound rude or anything but when I used to program and I had people on my server the cheapest forum software I would use was Vbulletin which is only like $300. Please take this into consideration :)

CCP decided to write it themselves. Not poking at you, but, what else can you expect.

This makes no sense. They made the game, if you don't like it, then why do you play? To spite them? They still get your money (or someone else's on your behalf). So how are you spiting them?

We can't have new forum software because there isn't enough electricity in London to support the power needs of modern, feature rich forum software.

Err.. wait. CCP you're out of excuses.
