Steps are being taken towards improving bookmark management! Now imagine...

I open my people and places.
I highlight some bookmarks I'd like to share with you, because you're a member of my alliance, and I trust you.
I right click the selected bookmarks, and select "Send to".
A text box appears, and I enter your name.
You open your people and places, and go to the dedicated 'inbox' tab.
In this tab, you have all the bookmarks I highlighted, marked with the time you received them, and me as their creator.
You copy the bookmarks into your corporation folder.
You delete the bookmarks from your inbox.

They can take however long they need to to sync over. The important part is no more messing about with cans or meeting up in an exit system for a contract. The whole concept of bookmarks needing to exist as a transferable game item has never made sense to me. It's the future, surely we can just send each other coordinates by e(ve)mail, regardless of who's where and in what corp.
