I've noticed recently drone ships are fielded a lot more in the recent months. The reasons are obvious, they lack all of the drawbacks of their respective turret/launcher counterparts, ie, ability to re equip to effectively apply damage to any target from a frigate to a battleship, immunity to ewar unless every drone is individually targeted and ewar applied, massive amounts of applicable dps with all the recent buffs.

Add on to all the inherent traits that drones have, the fact that drone hulls themselves have been recently revamped and buffed, along with a plethora of new drone modules added, and that has tipped the drone system to being imbalanced now in my opinion.

Remember, drones where never meant to be a primary weapon system when initially envisioned by CCP. Now they obviously are a primary weapon system, although have never been balanced alongside the other primary weapon systems properly.

The drawbacks of drones are that they can be destroyed, although this isn't a big issue as most drone ships have large enough drone bays to compensate for any losses. Also another drawback is that they are slow to reach the target, although with the recent drone buffs that isn't so much the case anymore, and you can reequip to sentries to apply instant dps anyway.

In my experience, drone ships have become dominant in the new meta, and I'm hoping for a rebalance at some point soon. The problems with the Ishtar are more fundamental that simply nerfing the Ishtar hull in my opinion.

Pretty much this. The search function, it is your friend. I stopped counting the "wtf Ishtar?" threads as soon as I came back from my Eve vacation.

You guys are out in force now. Drones have been an afterthought but now they can be properly used. Once people start taking them into account, they will find ways to counter them.

Drones are now a primary weapon system, and are actually less good now (Minus for f#cked hulls - like the Ishtar).

So - yes, you are going to see more use of this "new" primary weapon system
Just notice the increased use of fighters

This reminds me why I crosstrained to gallente back in 2006, after 6 months going straight Caldari on 3 accounts... Now I can fly pretty much everything just because some changes here and there can nerf or buff something and we never know.

Adapting since 2006, but never coming to the forum to complain (read my signature), at least not in GD.

It's a shame we have ppl asking and complaining about some ship in EVE as if they could not change, behavior we are used to see in other MMOs where you must pick a "class" and stick to it.

And he's right. I can't remember the last time I was in a fight and forgot to scoop my Autocannons and so didn't have Autocannons for the fight in the next system. I can't ever remember someone jamming ONE of my Lasers (cutting off 20% of my DPS) or shooting one of my Rail Guns.
