So there was this "duel in null"

I am confirming that, after running a locator agent, Zedrik Cayne was at MHC-R3, while the guy who claimed he would meet him there and kill him was not. Zedrik Cayne wins.

Ah, a tale to tell...

So let's start with a big talking guy in Dodixie local. Let's name him....Andy Ellis.

And let's say that he was speaking up and saying 'Dude..name a system in null and I'll go there and follow you and wait and kick your posterior.'

So, I named MHC-R3. And actually showed up there.

And waited. And waited. While said big talking guy went back to Dixie local and complained that I had chickened out.

Well, I was there, where were you? I even paid 5 mil to get someone *else* to locate me so that I'd have a minimum of documentation of me being there. Heck, a Dram tried to kill me while there.

So, what should any nullsec alliance do about this Ellis person. Who can't be bothered to make a short trip to back up his word.

What should anyone do, trust this person? Probably not.

I may actually blog about it later. Stay tuned.

Came in expecting a story about how dueling in nullsec is somehow different from dueling anywhere else.

Sorry that the details are a bit lacking. Its been a while since I cranked up the story box. And I'm out of practice making sure my forum posts pass muster from moderation.

But, fresh of the IEEE presses, the full story including local chatter, blowhards who claim they can hotdrop at any time in any nullsec, and other banalities including an eve-mail conversation.

This could be very true.

Everyone in here needs to watch this.

Also, the beginning of the story (Zed, if you would be so kind as to bundle the Socratic Files stories under a heading, that would be awesome ... took me forever to find this one.

No, no. Duelling in null is done at the alliance and coalition level. See "B0TLRD Accords".

No idea why he wouldn't duel me in Dixie. Probably was afraid of interference and bumps. (No real need for him, sitting in a claw.

No idea what is so special about null, but he later said he could have hot-dropped me any time. Which I doubt.

I'm pretty sure the conversation about arranging a hot-drop on a Nereus would have gone something like this:
