You wanna know what I find funny?

Not a week ago there were threads whining about how UNDERPOWERED the new Teir 3 battlecruisers were. How they could be killed by a single frigate that got under their guns, how they had no tank, no drones, etc, etc, etc.

Guess it's all a matter of perspective. :D

And no, the Tier 3 BCs are working as (apparently) intended:

Glass cannon, gang/fleet-oriented fast skirmisher/gank-boats.

The Talos is only fast if you fit it in a way where it's a glass cannon, all guns and an engine, no tank. It will be wrecked if you get a good hit or two on it. In regards to the Proteus; it's FAR too slow to be superior to the Tengu. Proteus could probably get a speed and agility boost like the other Gallente ships (which it mysteriously did not receive), after which it'd probably be decent. At the same time, I've seen Lokis deployed as DPS, and Legions acting as snipers.

Also, 70k EHP Oracle. In a group of ships that's supposed to be paper thin.

The tengu will kite the Proteus with it's 100mn AB or whatever and slay it. I see zero logic in your statement. In fact the logical portion of your post you were alluding to isn't present; you told me an idea that sounds like it has no basis in facts.

Going back to the actual thread, what about command ships and marauders are the new BCs intruding on?

These new ships have been out for almost a week. We're still messing with them. It'll take a while to figure out what these things are good at other than (as far as I can tell) nano glass cannoning and sniping.

I'm trying to figure out how to uber tank the tornado and oracle to make them sluggers personally....

can't you see how naga just buries golem. That dps, that tank, who needs to buy golem when naga is out now.


also op could you post a link ot a fit that actually runs ganglinks? I want to believe you about the death of the command ship class. II wnat to see a teir 3 fit that compensates for no boost bonus and no cpu reduction to to fit several links. This fit you have seen....sounds most impressive, please share it.

In most cases a properly fit *standard* tengu with a good pilot will win against a properly fit *standard* proteus with a good pilot. Of course the real question is how well the pilot knows his ship, what the situation is, who else is around, and whether or not the ship is built for that fight specifically. For instance a proteus with a neut fit has a better chance against a tengu specifically than other proteus fits might, but that may not be the most solid fit for other things you might encounter. The number of variables that go into a fight are great - but if I did not know either pilot, had no other information, and needed to make a bet, I'd bet on a tengu.

Alternatively, I absolutely love the Loki and would gladly fly it into a fight against either opponent. I'm not saying it's the best for all situations but it's quite a capable machine.

Both the tier 3 and tech 3 minmatar ships make wicked snipers and kiters... most likely as intended.

The gallente tier 3 ship is more of an all around ship, drones are nice, but its not invincible. The proteus is wicked for pvp but it can be neuted easily and all of a sudden its a really expensive paper weight.

The Caldari tier 3 ship has alot of uses for pointing and kiting etc. With time people will come out with more and more creative fits. I hate that u cant use much but a tengu in the c5, c6 holes due to the neuts w/ a cap escalation. Complete suck. Trying to cap transfer t3's and rep them in triage is too cap consuming.

The Amarr were never forgotten... Legions make wicked pvp ships, as much as the proteus in my opinion (if you know how to use them) and the tier 3 amarr bc is pretty awesome as well in collusion with the fact u can insta change ammo on lasers and thus have a really nice range.

I think you lack a bit of creativity in fitting and testing your ships. They arent perfectly balanced, but they are much closer than you seem to think.
