If you were around and remember the problems there was when they changed to this forum from the old one, you wouldn't ask them to change anything to do with the forums again.

First rule of EvE - if it's not broken, don't ask them to do anything to it.

It's really not that hard to keep up with web development. If they can develop successful games. I am sure they can hire a paid web developer that will keep every issue resolved. Plus the fact that web development security is quite easy when you know what you are doing with C++ and C and HTML and PHP you will get the hang of it.

The only issue I have with the forum software is that it keeps defaulting the background to Crucible when I want it to stay as Caldari.

Vbulletin is easy to administrate lmao

You mean easy like Wordpress is easy? As in it's easy to install on your server and easy to go buy a theme that looks just like everyone else's theme? Easy to figure out that the default settings are insane and it is guaranteed to fall over for more than 5 concurrent users? Easy to figure out, "Oh ****! You just corrupted my database and ate years of posts for no reason, you *****!"
Easy to figure out that oh my god, this **** is SLOW!!! Easy to decide that if you ever actually do want to do anything besides nothing you have to dig into a completely disorganized clusterf*** of a codebase that makes it easier to break things than it is to actually do anything useful? Easy to decide you don't want to be infected with the anti-programming mindset it would take for you to understand it, so you are just going to pay for support? Easy to decide that the support isn't worth the cost and that you should have just done it yourself the right way the first time?

Yes. Easy.

I honestly feel like I just read fifty shades of dumb. --CCP Falcon

there is one thing i want, and that's a text editor that shows you the formatting as it's going to appear, instead of having to figure out what's going on looking at the [quote] tags

The clicky takes us to the last poast in a thread. That alone is completely half-assed coding right there all by itself.

Like every other forum since the beginning, it should take me to the last post THAT I READ, no the last one in the thread and forcing us to backpedal to find where we left off.

.

They say most of your brain shuts down on the EvE forums. All but the impatient side, and the sarcastic side. No wonder I'm still awake.

I tried web programming once. It wasn't fun. I'd rather go back to coding PLCs with C or assembly. Not that I'm a programmer or anything.

Post with your NPC alt main and not your main main alt!

The forum is very bland and has nearly no effort put into it.

I think the contained features of the forum aren't evidence of lack of effort, but evidence of how much effort has gone into keeping the place somewhere people actually come to.

Inline pictures, signature pictures and other features present in other forums used to be available. That didn't work out too well.

Only addition I'd like to see is a downvote/upvote feature for threads and a dislike feature as well as the like feature.

I'm so glad people can't put imbedded pictures into their signatures and posts. That would really **** up the forum.

I thought most people had pretty cool sigs back on the old forums. that and I could usually easily identify people by them.

The old forum also had the single most important setting any forum ever needs: the ability to turn off signatures and images.

I have never found the EVE-O forums lacking. What more do you want?

I'd like the forums to remember the theme I choose as my default instead of resetting it every single time I log in.

I'd like quotes to link back to the post in question instead of having to search for it.

I don't understand why people troll in the first place. It's quite irritating if you ask me. Why not be yourself is that too much to ask for ?

I am myself. For example; My pet peeve is people with poor communication skills such as yourself.

This is false. What we SHOULD be able to have is a platform on which to communicate ideas between players and developers, and that's exactly what we do have. Any additional features on top of that are frills, things we COULD have, not what we SHOULD have.

Actually they're things that we really, really SHOULDN'T have as we'll just use them to break the forum.

Well this forum used to allow direct links to images, but years ago people started posting nudes and fallic symbols everywhere, so they removed it.

It would be nice to post direct images back on the forum. Just institute a 1 strike ban policy. Don't allow trial accounts to post on anything but the newbie question forums, and ban all images from being posted in THAT forum subthread.

That'd dress it up a bit.

Yaay!!!!

That can't be true, since you're Unsuccessful At Everything, afterall. Cool

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

Let me be myself:

Your idea suck, the forums have exactly what is needed for a forum to work.

I dont see any features missing on here axcept a filter that prevents people like you posting utterly useless threads.
