This isn't your game yet for PvP. Buy an alt, spend a year training them both up, come back then.

For what its worth the training interface makes you come back if your next skill is more than 24 hours ahead in the queue skills, so you can't quite forget about eve, you will have to log on once a week or so to refresh the skill queue.

^And this, friends, is what the rare PvPbear looks like. Now then, my advice is focus on fittings that can win by virtue of good control of the fight. Tracking disruptor fits are good, as can be some skirmish fits. You will lose a straight brawl. Evemail me and I'll send you some fittings.

Don't listen to these guys. Join a good Gallente corp. Get into a Derp Atron. Join fleets when they are up. Go kill stuff.

No, no, stay in Caldari learn to pvp like a pro then learn to FC and bring us good fights :)

Because your mum just couldn't say no.

The advice above is also valid. Really just don't be discouraged. Fight tricky and be clever. Or do the bricktanked tackle rifter strategy. Can easily get like 10k ehp on a rifter if you forego good fitting practices in favor of just being a cheap yet durable tackler, then run with a fleet. I did that in a highsec war when I was like a month into eve. Got popped but IIRC we got a battleship kill because of it. Anyways what race ships are you flying OP?

Nm caldari. Gross. Condors and Kestrels can be pretty good when flown right. Merlin is the traditional caldari pwnbrawler but you lack the skills atm.

Sounds like a good plan. I should try that.

Pick a frigate with at least four low slots. Fill all of them with warp core stabs. Start farming.

Furthermore, I think that links must be removed from the game.

Had a good laugh at the guy telling you to come back in a year.

Condor is great, but one problem you'll find is you're limited to defensive plexing or novices when offensive plexing. With your skills how they are right now, you might even struggle with a novice in the Condor. I'd suggest going for a Kestrel if missiles are your thing, at least until your skills have improved a little.

Beyond that, just get out there and get stuck in. Make sure you can afford to buy a healthy number of cheap T1 Frigates, and don't be afraid to lose them. Fleets are a great way to learn, hop in them whenever possible. And like others have said, find a good newbie friendly corp in your militia.

Got to agree with Crosi here, I'd redefine your expetations with training speed and just go implantless till you are happy you can afford to replace the loss and you have learned to get your pod out.

Don't ever wait until you're "ready to pvp". You won't learn anything high sec mining. Get out there and join a Corp, most fw corps don't care if you lack skill points, all they require is eagerness to fight.

Joining a Corp is a great idea.

When in a fleet you might last more than a few seconds as you might not be the first target, valuable time to learn and get used to pvp can be gained. Tho even then you might lose a ship or ten, so a corp with an SRP is a good choice. Not 100% sure if there are any Caldari FW Corps left aside from the NPC one atm tho as things have not been going so well since Okkamon but there could be one tucked away somewhere.

If you are defensive plexing just D-scan at 1AU this should enable to to avoid those fights that will result in a long trip home unless you fancy a shot at the title vs one of those faction/pirate/T2 ships.

i know im going to get hate for saying this, but joining a corp is mandatory. You will get ROFLstomped 1v1 if you have no SP, and that may ruin your opinion of the game. your lack of sp will matter far far less in a fleet, PLUS flying in fleets is more fun anyway

So, I'm still new and my advice may not carry much weight, but here goes.

DO NOT - Level skills till you're "awesome" and come back in a year. A guy in a blinged out PvP Boat with NO ACTUAL PvP experience is ASKING to lose his nice things.

The best way to learn PvP is to... PvP. You're gonna lose... a LOT. Find a small frig you enjoy. Slashers come to mind. They're cheap. They're fast and they can tackle well. Join a corp that is active in FW. There's a TON of them. They'll appreciate a tackle and often reimburse you if it blows up.

Eve Altruist made an amazing guide on Tackling and fits, you can find it at
http://www.evealtruist.com/2012/08/newbie-tackling-guide.html
Most of the skills you need to be able to tackle and participate in a fleet you can learn in a day or two. You won't be the best, but you'll be helping, and THAT is a big deal. Being able to lock someone down and stay under their guns while your fleet rains down justice. Is a good place to start. ;)

When you've lost... idk 10 Slashers or so, you'll prolly want to stop doing that and find out why they're now space dust. Eve is a little unforgiving about that. It's often hard to discern exactly WHY you died, bright side, there's a guide for that ;).
http://www.evealtruist.com/p/know-your-enemy.html

Mostly just pick a frigate, pick a corp. And realize you're going to lose ships. Become ok with that notion.

EDIT: OHHH BALLS!!! I almost forgot!! If you're running around with +4s For the LOVE OF GOD get a jump clone and fly with that. Leave your Main Clone at home with the implants. If you undock with +4 you'll be thinking, man I'm gonna run from Rens to Dal and help plex that system back to GLORIOUS MINMATAR FREEDOM!! And BAM! You jump from Ossugar to Amamake (Because at this point you don't know better).... +4s lost to the eternal gate camp.
