AFK sucks. Dont do it. Whether its piloting, mining, ratting or being cloaked; either play or gtfo

They should get rid of local in 0.0 and low-sec. But then that would give you something else to worry about.

And as for your thinly veiled whine about AFK cloaking, they are not equivalent, and in before lock.

I didn't want to make this into a rant topic but theres nothing more annoying than having to wonder why ccp favour these actions
there have been many many viable suggestions over the years to fix this, while they all get blatantly ignored. when do players get an option to have their say? so why can't i use a macro to have fun while i sleep? we all pay the same price.
WHAT I really want to know though, is what is CCP's answer to this? I cant seem to find anything that explains why they allow the mechanic to be as it is, all i find are locked topics and the like. Surely if they are not willing to make a change, they have a viable answer?


AFK cloaking and macro usage are not the same thing. They are not even comparable, and this attempt to make them so is disingenious at best, and flat out stupid at worst. An AFK cloaker is not using third party stuff to hack his way to fortune while he faps to some pretty 18 year old on Chaturbate.

By definition, if they are asleep they are not making any keyboard or mouse commands, and they cannot harm you.

You're not affected. If he's asleep, then he's not going to do anything to you, is he, and any perceived 'threat' is in your paranoid little noggin only.

If the game is to boring for you and you want to play it afk whats the point.......

go play something fun that you actually want to play.

and afk cloaking is not game changing at all.

all he is doing is sitting in system afk cloaked up.


its your choice to not do anything in that system while he is their. Just incase he comes and kills you. But he is not effecting the game its self in anyway shape or form. hes only effecting your weak minded Risk vs reward Blue donut of power. want to make isk but do not want to risk your ship.


now you want to make isk but dont even want to have to play the game Shame on you.

Still, I'm failing to see how someone AFK cloaked is making isk while sleeping by doing only that... well, maybe some new exploit? Roll

In fact, a lot of options to make isk while sleeping don't come with RL money being spent on electricity bills since you do not need to leave your computer on.Blink

so, why do we not have an option to find these cloakys? why do they not require fuel to operate. sure they use capacitor, but jeez if the star ship enterprise could of held cloak forever star trek wouldnt be so enjoyable

I think you miss the point.

In order to rat/mine whilst asleep you would need a macro (against EULA).

Sitting afk cloaked in a system, doesn't require a macro (not against the EULA).

That might be the worst post of the week. I'll tell you, by the way, why you don't get to find cloaked players.

It's because a cloaking device forbids you from taking any offensive action while cloaked. Simple as that.

How do you know they're sleeping and not sitting there watching what's going on in the system ?

AFK cloaking isn't game changing - they're not gaining anything while being afk. If you let someone else's actions change the way you play - that's your decision. You have a ship and can fit pvp modules to it the same as they can. not to mention corp mates that you can fleet up with.

Also complaining about AFK cloaking on the forums is usually a great way to get more of them to arrive in your favourite systems, so I'm sure the other Branch residents around BU-IU4 will thank you for that.
