Aesthetics Change in Mining and POS Manufacturing

Hello good eve citizens.

So i was thinking about how it's going to be awesome if the asteroids were getting smaller while we were mining it. So we could see big ass rocks beeing slowly get ripped off.

It would be nice to see ships beeing slowly constructed in POS assembly arrays as well.

It doest seems to be so hard to add this kind of feature in the game, or maybe it's just ignorance of mine and it's hard. Anyway, it would be great to have a dev to aswer it.

This sounds like a stealth 'spot the titan builds' thread to me.

The arrays used to build titans are enclosed so you wouldn't be able to see


I like this idea though even if on the POS end small med and large ships all had the same models being built so a rifter would have the same model as a corax just to make it look like there is some activity going on

They were working on the roids breaking apart in tessalation they showed at a fanfest. 2012 I think it was.

Basically it involves making more calls to the DB and pushing more data down the pipe to the client. It's why you're never going to see mineable asteroids bouncing off your ship in game, as well. (Maybe, one day, you'll see purely decorative 'roids doing it, existing entirely on the client)

I agree, t'would be cool. But don't get your hopes up, no matter what shinies CCP likes to tease use with.

I wish they had continued or hope they are still working on it. It just looked spectacular.
