Hi,

Although im a old character with a sh*t tonne of skillpoints, I have never ever participated in incursion running...

Im thinking about giving it a bash, and have done a bit of reading however some of it is a good bit out of date... So im looking for a seasoned pro to answer a couple of questions about the current situation regarding incursions for me before I dive in.

1) What would be the best ship and fit to give me the highest chance of making it into the decent incursion fleets? (I can fly everything sub cap)

2) Is there an average and approximate isk/hr (That is including the waiting around to get accepted into a fleet)

3) Any other advice or input that you think i should know prior to embarking.

Just want to give it a shot as ive been into pretty much everything else in this game and its something im a bit ashamed ive never ever tried...

Cheers,
Rana.

1) Nightmares are welcome everywhere, they had some changes that make ABs work wonderfully on them. so cap issues are thing of the past. they also make it in VG fleets if HQs are not your thing, or if you want to start small.

2) about 70m/h vgs including downtime and all, could be lower. most fleets do bursts of one hour then slow down as people drop and get replaced. while the fleet is going 100% you can see about 100m+... some can break 130m specially with nightmares chaining OTAs.

in HQs it depends on the fleet and the hour. some times the systems get so contested every site is a race and contest can get lost, skewing the so called "isk/h". they will get about 150 / 180. also keep in mind that the wait time to get in fleet can be so long that probably doing VGs will be better. (depends on your playing hours)

3) any advice? do incursions to have fun. its a great way to get to know people of all places. specially if you run with communities that are not language based, you'll find cool people from all over the world thanks to that.

just don't mindlessly do what the leadership of the community says, you are not their personal army, and just because the content is competitive in nature that doesn't mean it has to be mean spirited.

"Incursion public" is a great place to find out who is active in your timezone most of the time, and what site types they run.

1:) the holy trinity for DPS is mach/vindi/NM in shield and vindi/paladin in armor (armor info less reliable) and fits will vary by community. Shiny communities and fits will tend to give you better isk/hr, but tend to be more insular and less active. Solo stable logi are usable everywhere (scimi/ oni) while guardians and basi's are more for HQs and AS's.
2:) It depends on site type. A good (semi shiny, competent but not exceptionally FC'd, with no contests) VG fleet usually averages 70-80M/hr while a full shiny and fully pro fleet in the same site types makes 80-90, while a fully ascendency fleet makes 85-95M with the implants for DPS alone. HQs bottom out around 90m/hr.

As far as communities, while you don't have to be brainless and follow everything exactly, varying your fitting from the mailing list in any significant way (other than more shiny) requires a darned good reason, and will still prevent you from joining some fleets.

I do a pretty good job of keeping this thread up to date, and the FC's and communities that add to it tend to keep it up to date on things I am personally unaware of. It's a long read (30+ pages) but anything that doesn't get answered for you, post a comment and I am sure within a few minutes or possibly hours you will have your answer.

Things that keep me up at night;  Why do we use a voice communication device to send telegraphs? Moore's Law should state, Once you have paid off the last PC upgrade you will need another.

1:) "Holy trinity" for armor DPS is same as for shield DPS. Outside of bastion fleet marauder perfomance is behind said trinity. What made paladins so awesome for armor in the past were the strong webs which are now gone. Armor fits can be as shiny and as skinny as shield fits.
