Access difficulty bonus modifier on scanning rigs

I asked the GMs, some time ago, whether they could explain to me what this stat actually does. I was not lucky, to get an answer I could use.

So I'll try and ask in here and see if anyone can explain to me exactly what this stat does. On the "Memetic Algorithm Bank" and "Emission Scope Sharpener", exactly what do we get 20% bonus to?

Edit: The GM, I wrote with did say the stat was used and influenced your Virus Coherence. I'm pretty sure, you only get an additional 10 Virus Coherence, as the module states and not anything additional than that.

Basically, I just want to get confirmed if this is some kind of legacy stat, and if CCP some time in the future, could just remove this from the module, in case, if the stat is not being used.

From what I found on it:

Incursion site hacking targets still use the old mechanic.

So it's almost a legacy stat but not yet.

Well, that would explain why the attribute is still on the rigs.

Thanks for the reply. Didn't think about incursion cases, but it makes perfect sense.

It is basically from the old system where you role a dice and the the analyser gives you a certain chance to succeed, comparable with salvaging mechanics.

It is still in use in a Vanguard Incursion site, the OTA, for the simile reason that you do the hack there live with up to 2k incoming dps on grid, what is mostly done by a logistic cruiser or a hacking frig that somebody from the fleet dual boxes. In both cases playing the hacking game would prevent the person in the Logi to do remote reps or would draw away the attention of the person that has to play the hacking frig to(what is mostly done by the FC).

In some cases you also have to react on other things during the hacking, like when the logi draws agro as solo logi(where you need to move it back into RR range of a BS quick) or the hacking frig gets agro, what mostly means you have to get it out quick, with the exception of some fittings like a 400mm plated Venture or MSE Jaguar, that can survive on grid, given quick enough logis.

Halo-set prospect is also remarkably durable, but for a much larger investment.
