Hi Everyone,

I am confused about something .. I am really enjoying the new look of all the industry stuff and everything seems better to move around and such .. but I am confused about something .. I spent the whole night mining Veldspar and when I reprocessed it I only get 41% which meant I lost over 2.5 mill Tritanium do to waste ..

When I look at the pie chart in the Dev blog it reads a max of 72.4% .. So my confusion is why if I have Reprocessing and Reprocessing Efficiency both at level 5 and the Veldspar skill at Level 4 and a standing with the Lia Dia Corp where I am station at 7.08 ( Excellent ) am I only getting 41% ..

Thanks for reading .. and trying to help me understand ..

Lai Dai has some 30% reprocessing stations, are you sure you were in a 50% station?

as well as checking the station refine rate believe that number the devs made included the 4% implant as well.

By far the worst corp to refine at. My favorite corp to loathe.

Thanks for the information .. Honestly not sure what the % is at the station I am at how do you check?? I looked at the station tab but must have missed it because I don't see any thing about that.

Put some ore to process, then in the left hand pane hover over it, it will show the base yield at the top.

Quick check in my spreadsheet shows that, yep you were in a 30% base station.

However, if you were in a 50% base, you would only be getting 68.3% (due to missing the last level of your [Ore] Processing skill, and the 4% Refining implant).

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

You need level five in Reprocessing, Reprocessing Efficiency, Veldspar Reprocessing, the 4% refining hardwiring (RX-804 ?) and at least 6.67 'effective' standings with the corporation owning the NPC station. The station has to be one with 50% capability as well so you need to check that. You can get a couple of percent more by using a reprocessing array in high sec if you choose.

The visible 100% refine is gone forever now but doing the above we are told you are getting the same or slightly more than the previous 100% result with 'zero take' from the NPC corp.

Alternately, if you were to compress your veldspar you could sell it in Jita for more than you can sell the tritanium you get from refining it, since compressed ore sells at a premium over the highsec mineral value. It also makes it easier to haul, since compressed ore takes up far less space than raw minerals do.

I know this is fighting 10 years of habit for some people, but the new industry workflow really really strongly emphasizes hauling and selling compressed ore rather than minerals, unless you're planning to use all that trit in your own manufacturing (in which case you are of the "I mined them myself, therefore they are free!" persuasion and there is no hope for you anyway, so you might as well keep licking those windows!).

Yes compressed ore sells for more than minerals, but I have yet to see if this holds true if you factor in fuel and charter costs of a small tower

You only need to put fuel and charters in your small tower for one hour each time you want to compress. The rest of the time, the tower can be offlined.
