How successful is it to ransom miners in hi-sec? This means not being able to web or scram until negotiations have failed Pirate

Would miners actually bite and pay up?

Yes, unfortunately they did. Just a few weeks after the New Eden Asteroid Preservation Society was established with the purpose of creating a licensing service by which the wanton destruction that is mining would be tolerated only through expensive licenses, Goonswarm launched their campaign into highsec complete with a scheme for extortion with a similar mechanic--yet completely different intent--to that of NEAPS. Unfortunately after the Goons' concerted efforts, it has been difficult for this small organization to make headway in its attempts at environmental regulation.

Still, I continue to applaud the efforts of the Goons. They might be motivated by profit, but their actions continue to help preserve the natural beauty of New Eden by reducing the number of active miners. And when they have moved on to other projects, NEAPS will become active and begin its work in earnest.

Thats an excellent piece of fiction you wrote there, 8/10 for you !

I thoroughly enjoyed the part about preserving asteroids due to their natural beauty as the reasoning behind ganking miners. Thats not wholly original, but you have tweaked that old story enough to give it a bit of flair and to help set it apart from the other fictional reasons given by others.

The additional part about politics added just enough pseudo-credibility to potentially fool newbie players who have yet to fully experience the sometimes subtle Trolling that goes on in here.

Overall, one of the better Trolling attempts in these forums. As I mentioned before, Ill give you an 8/10.

Congratulations!

Edit: As your bonus point, I have 'liked' your poast.

You can't really ransom people who you aren't scramming. Its more like a protection racket (Nice hulk, shame if anything were to happen to it...). Now if you're can flipping them you can do ransom.

I do. It's called "Drinking and whores o'clock". It happens to fall squarely into "Non-eve time".
