Just coming back from being gone due to RL. Been Amarr forever, but wanted to try Gallente again with the hybrid buffs. My hybrid skills aren't great so I'll probably be starting with drone boats. cruising through lvl2's with a Vexor right now. For lvl3's should I pick up a Mrymidon? or save for the Domi?

Domi is ugly as crap, I think. I would rather go Mrymidon, but does that make sense? I'm much more for practicality than aesthetics for sure. On my other account I had been able to do lvl4's in a hurricane, not fast, but possible. Can the Mrymidon handle lvl4's? If I'll only end up using that BC for lvl3's, i might just save the money and fit out a Domi.

anyways, good to be back. Thanks for the advice.

For lvl 3's a myrm will probably be fine. I've been running lvl 4's with a domi, and it really grew on me. That said, a Myrm does not have the dps to handle lvl 4's, and if your skills are high enough to use a domi, you won't be running level 3's long either. If you want a smaller droneboat that can handle level 4's, the ishtar and gila are both possibilities. However, a sentry domi can fit a great tank with decent enough dps, espically if you put 5 guns in the high slots.

Awesome thanks. Yeah, at my level, I really don't want to be wasting ISK if I don't have to. I'll go ahead with the Domi and really start centering around that, getting up to t2 guns, and stuff. Already got t2 mids and lows.

thansk for the reply.

What you want more then T2 Guns is T2 Sentry Drones. They are where most of a Domi's DPS comes from. Heavies take about a full minute or more flying the 40-60km between Battleships whilst Sentry Drones can hit instantly. Sentries can also be rigged to give off more dmg and have excellent range with Omni Drone Tracking Computers.

Ahh cool, thanks for the advice there. Forgot completely about them. I haven't even trained for them at all. Could you explain real fast how you fight with Sentry's. I know you drop them off right, is it a pain having to come back and pick them up?

You just Drop them and sit still while they murder everything. They have the range. It is best to bring 2 pairs. Grades are high dmg thermal but only hit to 40-50km with Onmi Tracking Comps, outside that range use the Sentry that the enemy is weakest too. They will all have very long range.

Sentry Drones can only fire as far as your Drone Control Range so you will want a Drone Link Augmentator. Before deploying them you want to shoot the spawn you will be fighting so they aggro you and not the drones. recall the Drones before aggroing the nest spawn. Always carry Hammerheads and Hobgoblins as back up to kill frigs and certain cruisers, you will have room with your short and long range Sentry Drones.

The Dominix is a very versatile ship and would of course handle 3's well. But there has to be at least some 3's that don't let battleships in I believe.

Also when running them for a while to gain standings for 4's you'll make enough to afford the Domi, especially considering you could sell the Myrm.

A well trained Myrmidon has barely enough dps to handle 4's - with just drones that is. It's not advisable tho because it'd be awfully slow at times. For 3's the dps would be plenty.

Yeah, I would be using more than just drones. I'm always bad about selling ships. I always get attached to them.
