So, I have been running high sec anomalies for about 8 years.

I remember the good old days, even before I knew what the hell I was doing, occasionally I would get a drop that for some reason was worth MILLIONS!

Years later, I started to pay attention, read the forums, absorbed Eveness.

Enter the Dread Guristas Spawns. Rare chance for a decent drop, but a chance. Maybe 1-5 out of 100. Sometimes you could even get an escalation.

Now... Nothing. No decent loot, no escalations. I ran 100 before I came here to comment and seek comments, and I realize it is chance based. I am getting plenty of Dread spawns, but never a decent drop, and never an escalation, in high sec. Ever. Never, never never and ever never.

I know this was not always so. I understand that it may be statistically possible, but also highly unlikely. Maybe if I run a 1000 and have the same result, I can have some forum cred?

I continue to run anomalies because large green bars in my scanner view annoy me. I also like popping 3 frigs in under 5 seconds... Nice to use those wasted missile skills for something.

So yes, this is mostly a QQ thread that my carrot may have been removed, loot tables changed, and if I want to chase 5m ISK Dread modules, I'll have to go to low sec.

What I truly seek is validation from others that play this anomaly thing over the years. Please have vast amounts of empirical and recent experience on this issue before you comment and flame my space bothers and sisters.

Please be advised that I have this giant scar on my cheek not because of a lighting flaw, but from a fierce forum troll who abused me.

I heard the high sec exploration combat sites were even better than the anomalies, so I thought I'd try it out. Ran some down and killed some True Sansha rats. Got excited to go loot their wrecks and got a single frequency crystal. Five times in a row. I didn't run any more combat sites after that.

I too get the same old drops from scanned combat sites. Usually Pith C type goodies.

I fear that high security anomalies have changed, and that perhaps my cheese has been moved. With the current cost of these modules I wonder why, as they are a fraction of what they were worth 10,000 years ago, when it was so lucrative to get a drop once or twice a month.

Alas, I must read a new one minute manager book to try and inspire me to move on with my space life.

I don't believe there is a problem, the 'RNG' is a fickle beast and I've had WAY worse than a 100 anom escalation drought.

That being said, I haven't had an escalation doing null, low and high sec anoms in something like 7 weeks. I'm not kidding there, 7 weeks. Longest 'drought' I had before that was 3 weeks. It's distantly possible that something got screwed up in some patch or another, but none of us (as players) have enough data to say for sure. It is still probably just "the RNG hates me".

Another couple weeks and I'm gonna petiton...just to hear a GM say "working as intended" so I know they still exist lol.

PS, there is no high sec consiracy here, droughts happen everywhwere.

you've played this game for 8 years with a focus on high sec anoms. consider this perceived ~nerf a blessing and do something else.

Agreed, while I do not deny QQ, no tinfoil hat. I realize it is possible. But thank you for input.

7 Weeks is a fairly long run. I have run across some bugs with the new patch, it happens. Takes time for stuff to get fixed as well. This is an ancient game content area, so I thought it might get ignored.

Normal mission loot tables seem to have changed lately, maybe the anoms have changed as well as an unintended side effect.

from my experience (around 30 ded+unrated in the last two weeks) loot chance looks like to have been lowered.
a devel said that with kronos people doing exploration increased by around 60%, price of blue stuff on market is falling so maybe this is how they compensate.

The loot chance has not been lowered. I have sampled a few thousand anomolies now. The longest gap 230 between escalations for gurista rally point. It is not at all uncommon to sample a run of 3x the expectation in failures. The best flip side I've seen is 3 escalations of serpentis den in 10 runs after 175 with none.

Serp den averages 8% commander and 4% escalation for me. I've escalated gurista den a couple of times.

The commanders have the racial implants ie snake for serpentis and crystal for gurista on their loot tables. The best drop I've seen was a 300m snake lg epsilon (happened a couple of times) - I have a full set of snakes and I eventually got 4 vigilants from escalations. Sample a few thousand and I'm sure you'll do same from gurista.

yeah they killed high sec stuff. but remember that was a call the players cried for. to kick players to null and low for loot and content. they did this around the time they messed cobalt edge to hell and back. viva drone goo.
