I don't know if this is meant to insult but it just shows that you don't really care that your corporation did an exploit involving faction warfare. Actually this situation seems different from the exploit that your "giants" took advantage of.

Supposedly several people have had accounts suspended, aside from the character in this thread's title.

The claiming of bounties here based on the volatile market price of an item being destroyed is certainly different. It will be interesting to see CCP's words. After reading the previous Dev response here: http://community.eveonline.com/news/dev-blogs/72972 - It doesn't seem like something was printed out of thin air in this new case. Bounties set by players were claimed. So I'm wondering why a player would have to be cautious claiming bounties in the way that they were based on say - the precedence set in this dev response on the faction warfare exploit.

Of course this was an exploit. I mean look at it. It clearly was a bug, which rather than report, your mate chose to utilise to make profit. He deserves what he got and some. At least the faction warfare exploit took time and effort to swing the entire market, and at the time was at most questionable. Your little friend just abused an oversight in the market pricing and thought he'd be able to get away with it, even though people have been banned for exploiting bounty mechanics before. Epic fail.

the faction five thing was genius and involved really clever thinking to create something amazing

this involved taking ideas already established by the faction five and reusing them to exploit a different part of the game protected by the same pricegating mechanism

it got declared that intentionally blowing your ship up to take advantage of a pricing mistake was an exploit (because, you see, initial faction five stuff relied on market mispricing that happened on its own) during the faction five business, so these idiots then just went ahead and did it anyway

like if they'd done anything clever i'd be defending them all the way but there's coming up with a brilliant scheme that's on the edge of what is and isn't allowed, then there's using known methods to take advantage of a pricing error in a way that was declared an exploit years ago

put some thought into it next time and do something unique
