Client "getting stuck" or "black screening" when docking or undocking

Hi guys,

we have seen an extremely high amount of reports where the EVE client seems to get stuck or leaves you with a black screen when you try to dock or undock. Obviously this is unacceptable for everyone, and as such CCP Frellicus and myself are focusing on resolving these issues, and we would like everyone who is experiencing this issues give feedback in this thread on when / how it happened; as well as we want to keep you updated whenever we are pushing a new build to Sisi which contains fixes for this problem.

Please take note that it is very vital for us to know what exactly you did when you experienced such a situation so we would be very gracious if you could file a defect when you experience this, and link us to the bug report.

And.. well. how do i file a bug report, when its not reproducable and happens "sometimes" ?

Sometimes i am stuck with a black screen after undocking, so all i do is relog and its working again.

You could attach the logserver output from that run where you got stuck. And you could describe what actions you took before you got stuck, e.g. did you jump between system with a map open, or did you undock and then redock back into the same station. And so on. :-)

We are trying to find solid reproduction cases so if it appears out of the blue it may not help much unless we get logs.

Did I tell you we have a fetish for logs?

I want add something, i dont know if my computer is to blame, but i get it only during playing eve. It happens not every time, but it always happens when i am docked, suddenly computer freezes, then gpu black outs, screen goes into stand by.
Its a weird behavior that obviously involves the gpu, might be a faulty gpu but as i said it only happens with eve.....
Im playing other games also that push my card.
I cant add logserver report because computer freezes, i have to reset to get out of it. If there is a way to get the lgoserver file tell me. If i run logserver and computer crashes, does it keep the file till it crashed?

Reproduction steps, i cant say for sure, it happens always when i am docked. Around 80% of the time it happens during the first minutes when i log in and my character is docked. most of the time it happens almost immediately when dock screen appears, sometimes after a while when i start opening market etc.
Computer freezes, cursor freezes, i cant tab out, after a minute or so, gpu blacks out, computer screen goes on stand by, never recovers till i reset computer.

@Lek Arthie: No, that sounds unrelated to the things we were investigating here. But it might be worth checking if you have the latest drivers for your graphics card and so on.

I notice this happen when you dock and undocke immediately or docke change ship and undocke immediately, I have ssd then this is not problem but its take somet time 5-10 more time then usual to undock and I assume ppl with slow HDD can have some problem.

When I log on in a POS/space, I get the black screen and cannot do anything for a long time.

When I log on in a station, the station loads fine, but I get the black screen upon undocking. However, one I've experienced it once, it doesn't reappear.

For example, I can undock, wait out the black, dock and then undock just fine.

For perspective, I undocked in a rifter, max speed about 430m/s, when I could see what was happening, I was 40km from station.
