I'll take your Rorqual if you don't want it, it's useless anyway, right?

Rorqual Clone Vat Bay in worm hole space allows worm hole corps to stay in their system even in combat. You could argue it has been pigeon holed to absurdity but so many ships in EVE are victims of that fate.

They did in the Crius threads in F&I where they initially proposed the compressor plans and were made aware of it back then.

It's on their road map and has been since then, but wasn't feasible to make it into Crius.

Hmm… I'm in the market for a Rorqual. Does anyone have one to sell for almost nothing?

Also, I don't think the Rorquals supposesed to be at a belt. I could be wrong though, I haven't done industry, ever...

You're wrong, it was intended to be used in belts; it had a ridiculous tractor range. But CCP hates miners so as they rorq is nothing but a glorified killboard anchor, it has resided in POS's for the last several years.

I had one purely to transform for a bit.

Rather than get rid of it (I have a CE skin somewhere, so let's not) just make it useful for something. Perhaps enhance how it is used for dropping POS, since it's used for this anyway. Or for dropping a variety of of deployables. Maybe a highslot mod/bonus to speed up onlining or shield regen. Gives us some sort of reason to sit there transformed just admiring the effects.

Rorqual however has it's uses when you need to jump and setup a POS or other stuff in semi-hostile places, since an ordinary carrier (or JF for that matter) can't do it.

On a side note - your wrong about the JF's; mine can set up POS's quite efficiently. The last guy I knew who had a rorq refined it as all it ever did was sit in station. The boosts are good, but are only applied in deployed mode. Take it to a belt? You can do that, just fit a cloak, sit 200km off the belt and watch local, and pray to the gods for protection from awoxers.

My alt is maxed out on the rorq, but has never sat in one, because that would be it - sit there. All day. Every day. I can think of more interesting activities for my toons.

In short - the ship never truly excited me.

If only the Op hadn't missed the very obscure thread in which the devs noted that they noticed this.

They simply need to turn the rorqual into one of the best turtles in the game. Give it such an absurd tank that even awoxers don't want to test it against fighter sized drones. The problem is no one wants to field a ship that they have to guard while miners make high sec capable isk an hour in risky space. If they give it a large enough tank to either get out before dieing unless thoroughly under siege. Or to survive until help arrives unless thoroughly under siege. In short it suffers from the save issue that most mining vessels suffer. They cost way to much and can be destroyed by ships that cost 1/1000 their value.

For those who don't understand, you cut down trees for a living. You buy a blade that chops trees extremely fast. But has very little durability... So when you have to defend yourself with said blade against a pack of bears. "Yes in this example bears attack in packs." It breaks in seconds before an automated defense system can even show up. Let alone your buddies who are chopping lumber with you who have been drinking and think your screams are hilarious because there is nothing they can do either. CCP needs to make the rorqual bear resistant just not bear proof...

Something clever
