Got really excited when I saw this but 2 patches later its nowhere to be seen.

You Miners think you have it so damn tough.  When I first started playing we didnt even have mining lasers.  You had to fly close to an asteroid.....pop a hatch and gnaw at it with your teeth.   - Bitter Vet

It can take many months for them to get the thing from concept to reality, especially when they have to redo textures, make sure they fit the model correctly, and then make sure that the model doesn't have any weird and wonderful spots where the geometry is screwed up so that a missile looks like it misses but passes through the 2.5m hole into the warp drive..

the potatoes are still undercooked. They had to put them back in the oven for a little longer.

It doesn't take quite that long to make and polish a 3d model, especially not when you have specialized concept artists, modelers, texture artists, animators, and qa people involved. The physics mesh that determines where missiles hit and whatnot is typically a lower resolution mesh overlaid on top of the base mesh and doesn't take very long to make. My guess is that the whole dev team has been focusing on Crius lately, and now are mostly on vacation, so the new ship models have been somewhat delayed.

And I recall Art session at last Fanfest where they said: art department is not always a bottleneck of art changes getting into game. C'mon, how incompetent you think those art guys are to not being able to produce proper 3d model of a ship within few months period? I suspect obstacle is somewhere else, maybe there's simply nobody who cares enough to flip that one id field in that one record in database?

Same thing that happened to the Atron redesign...

I don't actually know what happened to them.

Splicing a potato and a bulldog is a delicate procedure. Sure, it looks easy on paper, but getting a viable hybrid is a entirely different story.

I got excited reading your post until I clicked on the link and saw that it still looks like a regular Dominix.

You think? I looked at it and thought BIG Battle Vexor with a warp spool. Not great but much better than current.

Maybe somebody realised it was an abomination as shown and requires the addition of a little LEGO man in lights before it can be released.

Agree. Less potatoish now and more in line with Vexor hull. Better, but still not good, the same as mostly all Gallente ships. They look like frozen pukes, strange butt plugs and potatoes.

Are you sad that Gallente get all the good designs?

Unfortunately CCP do have a habit of replacing perfectly suitable ship designs with more currently fashionable ones.
