How do I salvage my alt account?

Greetings,

two years ago I made an alt account on a trial with the intention to upgrade it with a PLEX. I transfered ~400mil to that account but never got around to upgrading it and quit the game shortly thereafter. I have now returned on my main account on a 1-month sub but with PLEX prices as they are now there is no way I can support an alt so I would like to at least retrieve the cash that's just sitting there unused.

Last I checked, trial accounts can't transfer ISK or create contracts, so what would be the best course of action in this situation?

Unfortunately there's no way to get the isk off of a deactivated account, especially a trial account. You would have to reactivate it with a plex or subscription and from the sounds of it that would be counter-productive.

That's most unfortunate. What about the hours for PLEX system? Or does that not work on trial accounts?

weird, you cant transfer money to/from a trial account afaik, are you sure it was a trial and not some extra-cheap steam discount?

Doesn't work on Trials. If you also don't activate with a PLEX as the first thing you do, you can get punished for abusing the system.

I believe you can use the Hours for Plex on a trial account but it specifically says using it to transfer isk is "considered using this option incorrectly and abuse." It will also disable the account from being able to use it again so you wouldn't be able to plex the account if you wanted to re-activate it later.

Well I just checked. The trial account has Hours 4 PLEX available, he also has a special offer for a 1 month sub + unique ship for 9.99€. What do I do?

IMO they should remove the restrictions on H4P. What harm would it do to let someone log in for a couple hours to have a looksee even if they don't use a PLEX? That can only lead to more returning players.

The reason you can't do what you want to do is because of RMT. When CCP allowed trial accounts more leeway it was massively exploited.

So you either sub that account or you forget about the 400mill.

You won't get any assistance from CCP to move ISK from a trial account to an active one IMHO.

Edit - the salient point here is its a trial account, nothing else.

If that ISK means so much to you, perhaps you have more important issues to address. Like why a mere 400 million ISK is even generating this kind of question.

the wisest thing to do would have been to already have done the H4P and moved the money and not made a forum post, and stayed off the radar. :]

just my 2 isk

You could always ask the goons about their asset relocation program.
There's an admistration fee but I'm sure one of them will be along soon to explain how it works.

Edit - In all seriousness you either resub the account the isk is on or you count it as a loss. Anything else will make CCP frown at you.

1. Get the trial account in the same station with main. Get him to the same crop with main if needed.

2 Use your trial alt to buy something for 400mil or close to that.

3.Use the trade, transfer the the product/s to main.

4.Sell the product/s back to market.

5.....profit?

Edit : Typos.

I see no reason for CCP to frown at me. I'm a legit customer and I have nothing to hide. I shouldn't be punished because RMTers exploit the system.

Thanks for the suggestion, Kataskopos.

6 You get banned. (isk seller/trade) enc

7 To open discussion you need to reactivate your accounts both of them or you can not send ticket.

8 You lost more and more money in RL then the isk is ingame.

9 leave the account

Who gets banned? Alt main or both?
If its the alt. Who cares?

Why would they ban me? They can easily check that the money was transfered from my main account in the first place and only retrieved now, plus both accounts use the same IP. Plus, chances are that I did buy the PLEX on the trial account just never used it. And there's only one way to find out.

It's unlikely they will frown on you for it but at the same time they have to enforce the policy of no ISK transfers from trial accounts. As others pointed out, this is the result of some exploiters wanting to feed their RMT operations. As the old saying goes: "you need only person to ruin it for everyone else".

Use PLEX to activate alt account.

Transfer ISK to main.

Question why you just spent 800mil in PLEX to retrieve 400 mil in ISK.

Use alt account to throw cheap frigates at anything that moves and link ALL the cat pictures in local until sub is up.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Hours for PLEX to transfer assets and/or ISK is forbidden. If you do it anyway, look for a ban on both accounts.

You're basically SoL except to activate the account normally. So do your math like that: would you get more ISK from activating the account or more from purchasing a PLEX and selling it?

Finally, all these convoluted schemes for getting stuff off trials are silly and unnecessary. They can act through the agency of a corp wallet.
