Well unless there's something obvious with drones that I've missed all these years, then outside of just giggles, I think it would help at least, with this...

Launch bunch of drones, say... Warrior II's
Drones get into a bit of a scrap, and you 'recall' one 'cause it's dying horribly.
Look at drone bay, and a dozen more Warrior II's.
Curse yourself for the hundredth time, for re-launching the exact same gimp of a drone... :(

If I knew that I'd just recalled Steiner, then I'd launch somebody else instead... ;)

I would use the pvp trick of naming all my drones medium when they are indeed light or heavies. Or npc drone or mining drone.
Or form a sentence with them all. IS ALL YOUR HOMEWORK FINISHED. Be funny to read that from drones.

I would have each drone have a letter and they would spell P E N I S.

I've had the same fivefour drones for months now and I've grown fond of them. To not let us be able to name our drones is nothing short of heartless.

It would be awesome if we could name them. Just imagine the possibilities!
