Having read both threads.
Target was suicide ganked by cats. Then appears to have complained on forums.
One of the gankers chose to use that as an "RP" reason to go after the target again.
Found target and spouted off CODE religious dogma. Then can flipped the target whose drones were most likely set on aggressive. If that mechanic still works.
Slow burned the target to a glorious explosion.
The target said a few things that shows she/he to be a new player despite the skill points and ability to undock an Orca.
Again, not sure if the drones automatically attacked or not. Could have been directed by the target to attack the incursis.

Ok. Gank. Upsetting.
Follow up kill. Upsetting. (inclusion of condescending and patronizing RP)
None of that was harassment.

But, a ton of harassment is included in this situation and many others.
Members of CODE and their supporters spewing abuse on the official CCP forums. GD isn't RP. Go to the RP forums.
GD doesn't have to hugs and roses. But, help a fellow player out. Explain ways to avoid the gank. Not that mining permit crap either. Saying stuff like that with the "official authority" that it tends to be stated with seems like you are saying CCP is the one selling it. New players don't know any better.

Go to miner bumping and read their "funny stories". Many of which include admitting that they sent unsolicited emails trying to get tears or rage behavior. None of which would have happened if not for those emails.

That is harassment.

So, gank, lols. Follow up kill using a mechanic I don't like, but drawing it out with RP and making it a slow burn... I smiled.

CODE and their supporters crapping all over our forums? Don't like that one bit. Try acting like a member of the community instead of a bunch of jerks. There are plenty of other places to act that way that won't affect new players here in the official CCP forums.

Remember, it is all about the NPE. Even if they bought their toon.

Not much weight in most countries, hower, point taken, this thread is about harrassment, the key points to observe here are not theft, or destruction, but spcifically the mention of forums as the reason for the attack and the continuing of roleplay despite seeing it makes the player only more irrate.



Thereupon lies the rub if you will. EVE is pretty unique in that it's meta game (including the forums) actively influences events that happen within the game itself, and has for many years. People spew nonsense on the forums, then someone comes and murders them in game for said nonsense.... it's just another part of the cycle of life in New Eden.

To cry out against this is to try to forcibly separate the meta from the game itself, and if folks were to succeed in this it would have some pretty dire consequences, including a breakdown of accountability for one's own publicly spewed shittastic ideas. Some ideas are so bad that they merit a savage beating in response, in truth. To take steps to prevent the playerbase itself from correcting it's own errant members in this manner would seriously undermine the spirit of the game. We already have far too many anonymous forum alts coming on with their pants on their heads spewing nonsense as it is.

Come hell or high water, this sick world will know I was here.

I'm not fully in the CODE/minerbumping loop, but the initial gank was done by Ethereal Dawn, who have been operating in adjacent lowsec to that area for months. The subsequent delicious orca kill was done by one of my own corpmates. As far as I'm aware we have no affiliation with CODE. Soooo. From what I can tell this has NOTHING to do with CODE. (for once). I believe you are looking for the thread three doors down on the left.

Clearly you need to stop playing EVE and become a psychiatrist since you have such an undeniable understanding of how social disorders work. Faylee may have pushed the line with the RP comments resulting in the target to reply with a potential "I quit" comment.
That isn't good for anybody.
I don't take issue with the gank or kill. And I should have stated, this is not harassment.
But, that other thread had many replies from people who are in CODE or constantly have their noses firmly in the groove when CODE swarms a thread. A lot of what was said is out of line considering the targets probable youth in terms of play time.

That being said, I apologize if you thought I was putting your corp in the same category as CODE, et al.

Rage quiting from a gank is unfortunate but does not involve harassment.
Being email bombed with requests for tears no matter how religiously worded, and a lot of the abusive things said on this forum, after the gank can be construed as harassment. Especially if it results in loss of subs and thus income for CCP. Think of CCP income as potential improvements in this awesome game.

Lucas, I think you showed your fox tail too early. I suggest an intense summer of study under UaE's tutelage to absorb the skills you need for mastery of troll fu.
