This ship has always interested me. It's very different from the other three so a direct comparison is difficult. After Crucible, this is what I get:

High:
150mm II x 7
Arbalest Standard Launcher
Med:
Catalyzed Cold-Gas Arcjet Thruster
Tracking Computer II w/ Optimal Range Script
Sensor Booster II x 2. One with Lock Range Script
Low:
MFS II
Rigs:
Ancillary Current Router x 3 Attention

91km Lock range. With Faction AM you get an optimal of 23.3 km, falloff of 9.75km, DPS of 262, and a volley of 610. This is without the missile launcher. That adds a simple 15.9 DPS.

With Faction Iron? What? 74.5km Optimal and falloff of 9.75km. DPS of 109 and a volley of 254. As silly as that sounds interceptors don't like being hit for 254 every 2.74 seconds.

Thoughts? The ship still needs a better fitting grid. Three power grid rigs is ridiculous. I would also support an 8th turret. The Cormorant only gets 7 much like the Thrasher. Unlike the Thrasher it doesn't get a direct damage bonus. It does not have the lows to get the higher damage yields of the other destroyers. Letting it have the same number of turrest as the Amarr and Gallente is the best way to bring it up to par.

Just cause it has a Caldari stamp off the factory line.. does it have to be a sniper gunboat?

[Cormorant, Caldari Rifter]

Light Neutron Blaster II, Null S
Light Neutron Blaster II, Null S
Light Neutron Blaster II, Null S
Light Neutron Blaster II, Null S
Light Neutron Blaster II, Null S
Light Neutron Blaster II, Null S
Light Neutron Blaster II, Null S
Rocket Launcher II, Caldari Navy Gremlin Rocket

1MN Afterburner II
Warp Scrambler II
Stasis Webifier II
Stasis Webifier II

Magnetic Field Stabilizer II

Small Ancillary Current Router I
Small Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I
Small Polycarbon Engine Housing I

Try using it like a rifter. 280 dps with null out to web range before second falloff.. up it depending on target and fight to 385 dps with void. Tank crappy but comparable to T1 frig standards fit with a tank.. can cheap fit it and use like a Rifter with better lockdown and 2x+ the dps.

Zero experince with said fit.. jus flinging an idea out there.

I've never been a fan of sniping ships. With the exception of heavy assault ships. However, I've had the pleasure of seening and engaging 4 sniping frigate fleets with multiple Keres (dampeners) applying warp disruptor over 30,000 meters. Every I witness or engaged this fleet set-up. They've always had Scimitars Kitsunes and Hyena's.

I'm also pretty sure I've engaged a fleet of Coercers with beam lasers (PERVS).

I Prefer 75mm rail-gun on the Cormorant when solo. Mainly for its mobile damage application @ range and good tracking with stasis webiifier close range. I haven't flown the ship in a very long time on Tranq. I prefer the Coercer and Thrasher (even after the changes)..

However I have on the test server and It does mighty damage with rails. I really wish CCP included a power-grid reduction use of small ion blasters in its changes. Think a Cormorant with ions would have been great.

The set-up you've posted seems ight. Not sure what to do with the Cormorant any-more, but it should be considered the second best destroyer in-game

The catalyst easily gets into the mid 400 DPS with blasters. 500+ without a tank. The cormorant simply can't compete with that kind of blaster platform. Not with so few lows and certainly not with one less turret.

You completely missed a key point.. stop looking at paper numbers. 2 webs vs no webs.. one has a very deep ship choice of range dictation ability vs one that is very very poor at such, using blasters. Blasters tend to fail because of the range dictation game.. win it, well then.. it is a whole new world for beefy blasters.

Catalyst with those dps numbers is going to do what exactly when the vast majority of frigs (dessie's main role to smash) can get away? When up against that corm.. they will not get away.

Two webs is nice. I can see that fit being successful. The Cormorant could still use a better fitting grid as well as an 8th turret though.
