Not sure if this is the right place to post this but here goes anyways.

As a person that has been forcing himself to log in lately just to check skill ques, I've been seriously debating to my self why.
Why do I continue to run my skill que?
What are my short and long term goals in EvE?
Do I really enjoy what I'm doing? (null bear mining, indy, avoid neuts/reds)
What am I doing it for? (to pay rent for null so i can farm null to pay rent for null?)

Recently I wrote a rant-like.... no totally rant post in another thread. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=4836683#post4836683

The TLDR version is this:
Quote:
Null Sec Is stagnant
Non-FW Low Sec Is stagnant
High Sec is Consensual PvP stagnant
WH space... No Idea, is it stagnant too?

So what this is all about it this:

I personally really need some reason to keep on going.

CCP I am sure you are all busy but perhaps a few live streams or VODs to let us players know where you are headed. Wild speculation and disenchantment is the product of silence.

I'm not the only one that feels this way. The disenchantment is a particularly strong point here.

As can be seen here, Manny and I are not the only ones that feel the disenchantment. As I pointed out in my extra ranty post, Our current population levels are down to the 2008 era. It would really benefit everyone if we had some kind of Reassurance that things are heading in a positive direction.

Mining and building to supply a war machine is extremely satisfying. Mining and building to rent space is extremely disheartening.

So please, anyone from CCP. Please give us something, anything, any kind of reassurance that we're not all just playing in vain while EvE slowly disappears without so much as a whimper.

I only read the op, not any reply.

All i'm going to say is this;

3 days ago I subbed 2 accounts for a year each.

If you can't find a reason to do the same then maybe it's time to find something else for a while?

The reason, ENJOYMENT. After over 2 years i'm still enjoying what I do in the game.

I hear you.

I barely find this game fun at all anymore.

I'm considering cancelling my subscription just because I don't have a lot of time to play video games and this game doesn't turn out anything fun for me. Its basically just a bunch of angry and mean spirited jerkoffs trying to one up each other. I wish EVE Legion or Valkyrie were around, those look like fun.

I'm thinking about defecting to Destiny via PS3 *shrugs*

Why do you need someone else to tell you whether you enjoy the game or not?

That's the first thing that came to mind when i read the OP.

If you don't enjoy it and keep playing then there is something wrong with you , not with the game.

We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid.

Try out wormhole life. I love it. Prefer it over lowsec, nullsec and highsec combined. If it was somehow possible to have a market in w-space, I would never go back to k-space unless I was podded.

There's plenty to do in EVE. Find 5 fun things to do, and do 1 of the 5 per week. Change it up. EVE is stagnant if you continue to do the same thing everyday.

Don't be obtuse. It's an MMO, reliant upon subscribers to stay alive. If CCP pulls the plug, you can't play anymore, and part of the allure of an MMO is the progression of your character, not just the day-to-day gaming. Because honestly, there are a LOT of better, more entertaining ways to spend your time then this game . . . it is the cumulative effects of playing an MMO like EVE that make it worthwhile.

OP has serious concerns about CCP's apparent decision to minimize any reinvestment into EVE itself. It's possible that CCP has decided that they can manage EVE without working on addressing any truly major issues in a timely manner, and that their hard core, multiple-account player base has low enough expectations that dribs and drabs of updates will be enough to maintain adequate numbers. Look at their lack of effort on drawing new players, making the game more accessible to new players, or addressing any of the lasting concerns that make old members want to stop being members (POSs, sovereignty, blob/N+1 dilemmas). Watch them admit that they're not interested in providing the resources necessary to refund SP for removed skills. Watch them continually promise more and more, while producing less and less.

On this track, on this data . . .yeah, EVE may actually be dying. But it will be a long, drawn out death, with plenty of pew-pew in the meantime.

Was there a lot of hopping going on in 2007? I don't remember.

EVE is a game about spaceships and there's an enormous amount of work to do on the in-space gameplay before players (or developers) are ready to sacrifice it for a totally new type of gameplay - CCP Rise
