After watching GD for some time now, I think I have found a cure for the bitter vet disease. For me, it's clear it's not about what CCP brings or doesn't bring. It's not about promises not kept. Its about fear. A deadly fear.

A great rule for EVE is "don't fly what you cannot loose"

as a cure to BitVet is would suggest:

If you are so afraid of loosing your thing (could by ISK, Sov, Positions, Reputation), that you see any change CCP makes as something you have to rant about, its time to give it all away and start fresh and new. That way, you have lost soo much, that it will feel like a relieve to you and you might enjoy the game again.

As the inventor of the BitVet cure, I would suggest that you leave all your ISK en stuff to me. I will make sure that it all will be disposed of in a good way.

Uhm it is : Don't fly what you can not afford to loose. If you don't see the difference in that then you have a huge problem.

But then your request for isk makes this just a : '' OMG PLEX prices are so expensive i can't sub my account any more '' .

We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid.

I see remarks complaining that CCP doesn't react to a thread, but they do.

Wich is a complaint from a guy only 2 years old , 2 years ain't VET by far.Try 8+ years now that's close to the VET mark . Lol

I have to admit I cheated here.

I saw the title of the clip, yet it was regionally blocked where I live.

As Proxtube fired up automatically and tried to redirect me I just screamed "NOOOOOO" and bailed out.

edit:

I just swallowed a fly that somehow got into my ice tea and spit ice tea and fly parts all over my keyboard and monitor.

Wasn't even a clip, it was the FULL MOVIE

So you did the right thing, and I was defeated for my strategy

I'm a vet, not very bitter though, i'm currently in one of my low periods, where i'm not very motivated to do a lot, but atm that has more to do with irl crap making me just stressed then eve.

I'm pretty much an eve fan boi, been here for 10 years, will be here till the servers shut off, or they pry the keyboard from my cold dead hands, whichever comes first. I feel madly in love with this game 10 years ago, she is an ***** of mistress, but sexy as ****.

I agree with other posters, a lot of the complaints come from people who can't wrap there heads around change. You will see this with every large change, and esp after every patch. People will threaten to leave, some will, but most of the the time they either don't or they come back a few months later and pretend like it never happened.

That's eve, it evolves and changes. I honestly, this time, really don't get the hoopla, with a little work you can make a killing with the changes. But meh.

I understand the point of people who want more stuff to play with, hell i'd love for some new toys that get me excited. But, I wan the toys to be complete and working. No half assed, not abandoned, not a stop on the shiney express.

Its why things like dust failed. It was a half assed attempt at linking eve to it. I think that will make legion and valk fail. half assed is bad. Either do things fully, or don't.

Personally, I like what ccp is doing, fixing broken, improving code, and laying he ground work for new stuff. I'm in no hurry, and have some faith left that once the dust is settled, i'll be glad I hung around. Ad if ccp screws it up, I still have tons I can do in eve.

The cure for bitter vet, is to relax and stop being so serious. this is still a game at the end of the day.

OMG Comet Mining idea!!! Comet Mining!

Eve For life.

bittervets does not care if they lose a ship, but as i am so called bittervet i can say my personal problems with EVE.

CCP has not bring anything new for old players for a long time, wormhole expansion was last one which really bring something new , after that nothing new and wormholes came 5 years ago or something like that.

Now CCP focuses to improve new player experience so how i look that is they do not even want to keep old vets in game they want new players to join circus and maybe be there as long as i have been.

I do not care how CCP changes ships or game mechanics , i can fly almost everything and i can adapt my tactics.

Thing is that after playing same scenarios over and over again for years start to be boring no matter how much ships explode or not, bringing new ships does not really bring nothing new.

Stan Marsh became a bitter vet:

Fortunately for him he was introduced to alcohol relatively quickly. Many bitter vets go through years of sobriety.

I'm 10 years in the game and can't even remember complaining once about the actuall game.

I do hve had a lot of complaints about it's userbase , so the question is how should one be called then? A bettervet ?

I think most "bitter vets" are so rich that the last thing they worry about is the rule you posted:
