Cannot log in without going to character creation - help pls

Hi all..

I have just re-activated my old account with the "Hours for PLEX" option on forums, i have 4hours to log in a put a PLEX onto my account etc.
My problem is, i am on character select, if i select my character is goes straight into character creation, which i do not want. How can i get past this to "Just log on" with my characters without changes pls?.

you can't.

go to character creation....only option

If you're logging in on a pre-Incarna character, I don't think think the old character-creation engine is still in place, though I might be wrong. I don't believe it's possible to skip that initial creation step.

I can't get rid of my darn signature!  Oh, wait....

start an new character and plex it.. its going for an account anyway... so you wont lose hours for plex

We were forced into char gen again less than a year ago (when some stuff changed).

Do you not get any message when you are going into the charcter creation? If you do, what does it say?
And also, do you have to start your character again, or are the race and bloodline already selected?

This happened to me too, with alts who had new portraits but who I had never entered the CQ with (I quit the day Incarna launched so I only saw the CQ with this character).

FWIW, I didn't get any message, and had to start at the body/face moulding bit - race/bloodline etc was already set.

hi all..

Well i had no choise but to re-do it, just to get the PLEX issue sorted out. Now perhaps a petition about getting my old character back, what fun.

Karkur -
I just clicked onto mier and then "enter game" button , its takes me straight into character creation, no other options given.

Also - the bloodline etc are all the same as before, it just makes me do a re-creation, with no options to avoid. This is same for all 3 of my characters on same account.

hmmm, weird.
I don't think it's possible to get your older character back.
Have you redone your other characters on that account? If not I'll take a quick look to see if I can find out why you would need to redo them.

I'm having the same problem with this char.

He was created pre incarna, but I went through and resculpted all my chars when incarna was released (as you can see from the pic <<<-), I went through and redid this char whenever we had the option to rescult soon after incarna hit as I wasn't quite happy with him.

Just post incarna I could happily log into this char without going through any resculpt / recustomisation.


Last night I tried logging in on this char for the first time in months and it drops me to the resculpt tool. Going "back" to the login and trying again did nothing to change this I keep being dropped to resculpt (can alter nose and ears and cheek bones etc.).

There is no popup, or optional "do you want to resculpt?" dialog. Click on the char and it loads the resculpt tool.

In the resculpt tool, it appears to be a "default" model for a male vhekior, so it's remembering race, bloodline and gender.

edit: just to add... this is an alt on my main account, my two other chars in the other slots don't have this issue. Main is very much pre-incarna and the other char is a post incarna jita checker Roll. Account was credit card subbed, but went onto plex in Nov.

I backed out of the resculpt each time and the char is afaik still in the state where it's being forced to resculpt... if you need a live example

As far as I can recall, this will happen to any account logging in that has never had an Avatar before. In other words, your Avatar was blank before Incarna. From Incarna onwards, you are forced to have an Avatar for your ingame Character, no longer just a blank profile picture. Just saying, something I know I read some time ago.

As we're "just saying"... you might want to reread the posts from the people saying there is a problem... specifically the bits about already having gone through the sculpting when incarna was released...
