Dotlan at 0845 hrs 18th July, shows 430 ships and 114 pods killed in Huola in the preceeding 24 hours.

Whilst the Burn Huola campaign doesn't appear to be over yet, it was on a 'break' last night and I've decided to go back to my usual blog for today at least. Despite the break status of the campaign, Huola is still a very hot place to be. The Amarr shifted their campaign to take the neighbouring system of Roushzar and as it had already been driven up to 90% contested our response came too late to save it, but we got several good fights trying and additionally successfully saved a friendly POCO coming out of reinforced mode in Huola. Neutrals and solists are still showing a lot of interest in Huola and at one point we ganked down a Smart Bombing Dominix on a large plex. Broke a WT gate camp on the Otelen gate and caught a sniping Prophecy off the Huola gate in Roushzar.

Ended the night 30 kills for 3 losses (Tristan, Algos and Cormorant) and that was only for about an hour in fleet as I spent most of my time bringing in new ships and modules. So far this month I have made 847 kills for 62 losses and for a while I was on Z-Kill top ten leader board. I need another 86 kills to break 10000 kills (all time) as recorded by Eve-Kill.

The Amarr are saying the Burn Huola campaign is over, but their POSs and reships are still there so we need a few more days of hush hush, secret squirrel stuff. However at this moment in time Huola is stable and Minmatar activity and moral has never been higher. We are in rest and recovery mode and bringing in new ships, sorting out admin etc. Corp recruitment has been on a high with about 10 people joining in the last week attracted by the campaign, many of them experienced PvPers.

My personal stats according to Eve-Kill show me on 10062 kills, I went through the 10000 kill barrier on the early hours of Tuesday morning. It was in a small plex fight with Dessies and logi, but I couldn't be bothered to accurately count back and work out which ship it actually was. Besides 3 or 4 ships were dying each minute, the killboard doesn't distinguish to the second and the exact order is likely to be off.

My monthly stats show me on 980 kills for 78 losses. Definitely my best month ever, my previous best was May 2013 during the Arzad campaign where I achieved 576 kills for 68 losses. Ought to crack a 1000 before this month is over. A word on my losses (titter), these include a number of noobships which I used to board stolen Amarr ships dropped off in a safe spot or on the station undock. I expect a few more will appear as they get scanned down over the coming weeks and months.

Corp stats for the month, are currently 4203 kills for 976 losses with an 84.15% efficiency.

Wednesday 23rd July 2014

Started with a tour of the enemy POSs still in Huola. I was in a Manticore and foolishly lost it trying to set up a perch bookmark at an appropriate range on one of them when out of impatience I dropped cloak and fired up my MWD to get into position quicker, thinking the guns wouldn't be able to hit me at that range.

During the tour, I noted that a large Caldari POS belonging to Templis CALSF, a Caldari Militia corp that had come down to help the Amarr during the Burn Huola event, was out of fuel. It had a load of modules anchored around it, mostly laser turrets. Well that was begging for a response.

I formed fleet got scouts out to neighbouring systems, dropped a cyno inhibitor and we went to work. It was a bit of a grind in ABCs and SBs, but more people gradually joined fleet and eventually the Tower popped. We then went to work on the modules, we could have scooped them but I was in 'rub their noses in the dirt' mode and I wanted to paint their killboard red. Eventually we killed them all and stood the fleet down. Only later did I realise that in total we killed 20 items and I had started the night on 980 kills for the month. So I got the 1000th kill with the final POS turret. :)

I was going to log early and relax, but decided to do just 5 minutes of admin first, then found I had two applications to corp. Both qualified for trial and had followed the correct proceedure so I accepted both, both immediately joined and my 5 minute admin stint turned into an hour.

Bengal Bob came on commes and asked me to be his wingman for a small skirmish in Kourm. He was in a Breacher, so I undocked in a Breacher and went over. A couple of other pilots followed. We got into a drawn out fight on a series of plexes with about 7 pilots from Drunk Chaos, the initial fight didn't go well, I lost a Breacher and 2 other friendlies went down in exchange for a Tristan and Rifter. We reshipped, staying in Frigates, more friendlies joined the fray for round 2, Drunk Chaos shipped up into Cruisers with logi and at least one BC. We mostly stayed in Frigates, but eventually about 10 friendlies joined the fray which included a couple of dessies. I remained in my second Breacher throughout and to be honest I was unaware that our numbers were growing. The fight spluttered on and off for the best part of an hour and a half with just short breaks to loot the field. It was incredibly good fun and I was amazed that Drunk Chaos kept coming back, props to them. Only when I studied the battle report later, did I understand. We killed 23 ships worth 599M during the fight, but lost 15 friendlies worth 151M. I was gobsmacked at how valuable the fight ended up after starting between half a dozen T1 (non faction) frigates. GF.

Ended the night 40 kills for 2 losses.

I am a 5 mil SP thrasher / sabre specced pilot, with certicate mastery levels at 2.

Pretty self sufficent, and looking for an EU timezone corp.

I live in the UK, but work shifts so play at different times and can not always be on comms as i share a flat with my girlfriend and often play late at night.

How does the corp stand on mostly solo play, high sec WT raiding and neutral pod ganking?

I don't really want to spec into anything else at this time, right now im working on getting higher alpha strikes for my arty fits.

Be great to hear from you if you can drop me a mail. Can supply Eveboard etc if needed.

edit: just noticed you do ganks etc already, will drop in an app tonight.

24th July 2014

Zen was running an advertised training op for new pilots last night. We got into Armor Frigates with Logi and headed off for Tzvi as a few Amarr were said to be pushing that system.

The Amarr were flightly though, so we ran a Besieged Covert Research anomaly instead. Wasn't sure that 10 Tristans with just 2 Inquisitors would be able to do it, but it was a breeze.

As we got ready to leave via the Lamaa gate a Drake landed on us. A few of us tackled it and it jumped to Lamaa. The rest of the fleet jumped, caught it and it burned back and jumped back to Tzvi. Once again we caught it, but with half the fleet aggressed in Lamaa it red boxed. Turned out to be Rapid Light Missile fit, but our Logi wasn't aggressed, got back into Tzvi and keep us up. The rest of the fleet joined and then it lit a Cyno.

We held waiting to see what jumped in. Nothing did, the Drake died, it would appear his backup decided we were weren't worth the jump fuel.

We moved on toward Amamake and met the same pilot, now in a Moa. We chased him into Amamake and killed him again.

Later we returned to Kourm and set up a gate camp on the Kamela gate, for this we reshipped into more appropriate ships, myself in a Stiletto. For the third time the Cyno bait pilot stumbled into us, like last time in a Moa. This time he lit his Cyno and two PL Thanatos jumped in. However, we still killed the Moa and then baled. Unfortunately I got a bit cocky and decided to go back and harass them. What could a Carrier do to a Stiletto? Well that didn't go well and I podded back to Huola and built another Stiletto.

With PL gone we returned to the Kamela/Kourm gate and caught a Raven, then a Vexor Navy Issue and some smaller stuff then headed for home. As often happens as we decide to bin it, a half decent fight kicked off. 3 Shadow Cartel Navy Vexors were on the Huola/Kourm gate. We engaged and killed two of them, a nice end to the night.

Ended the night 12 kills for 1 loss.

Guys interesting in joining - please have a read of the first two posts in this thread. All the details are there including how to apply in FAQ 1 on post 2. We are pretty laid back in granting people a trial. But we look for activity and initially judge it on the criteria of 10 kills a week for the first 4 weeks. Surprising less than half our trialists actually successfully complete this and I do boot if that happens.

To be frank, you can do this from the NPC corp "TLF", while we do gank when we can, we want team players for small gang skirmish warfare with some bottle to go up against the odds when needed.

On Wednesday we had taken down a large Caldari POS that had gone offline, belonging to a Caldari Militia corp that had come to take part in the Burn Huola campaign. During the same fleet operation we also put into Reinforced mode a Small Caldari POS belonging to Heart of Pyrite, a Winmatar corp.

The timer though was unfavourable coming out just after downtime on Friday. No op was called for it. Reports came in that Winmatar with support from CVA had repped the thing back up. Not only that but after repping it up to 50% they had then anchored 11 Projectile turrets around it and then dumped 34 ships into the shield bubble. Mostly frigates and dessies, but 4 Ospreys, a Blackbird and a Scythe too.

I have to say I was confused, what does that say about their intentions? The POS had been empty with no defensive mods prior to this and to be frank we were just dicking around to incite a response. So I called another op on Friday evening and put it back into reinforced mode. This time the timer was 16 hours and due to come out at 1146 on Saturday morning.

So a couple of hours before DT on Saturday I'm taking a look at the POS, like an idiot I warp to the Bookmark in a Purifier but forget to cloak it. I'm double boxing and was distracted, didn't even realize until the damage was into armor. So I pod back and build another Purifier, last one, so then I had to send an alt to Amarr to buy another stack of them.

Anyway I get back on the POS and have a study of it. Why have they put 11 guns on it? Why are there still 34 unmanned ships floating in the shield bubble? Is it some sort of tarp? Or did they just miss the notification mail or was the timer so short, nobody had actually logged on and seen it yet?

DT comes and goes and we log on, form fleet, I've got scouts out in all the neighboring systems and have watchlisted all the main Amarr FCs and the leaders of Biohazard, none of them come online. With 2 minutes to go we drop the cyno jammer and stack up on the edge of the shield. It takes less then 10 minutes and then a fun turkey shoot. I ungrouped all my guns to try and wh*re on as many kills as possible, but all I got on was the Blackbird. 34 ships just vaporized as soon as the tower went down. The guns took a bit more time, I got on all of them plus the two Ship Maintenance Arrays. Couple hundred million worth of loot dropped. Just as we were finishing the only Winmatar leader that had come online during the shoot came into system, he warped in at range just in time to see the last gun pop.

Thanks for the KMs o7, if only all POS bashes were like that!

Skirmished a bit before and after the POS bash, ended the day 24 kills for 4 losses.
