Anything with a HD4400 graphics chip or better will work well, HD5000+ is preferable but somewhat hard to find in the form factor. From friends using older HD4000 hardware it's workable but if you want to run eve it's not the best.

Single client runs well at 1080p on both my Sony Vaio Pro ultrabook and my father's Surface Pro 3 at medium settings (both have HD4400s and dual core i7/i5 processors, respectively). Low settings and no brackets are probably needed for massive fleet fights, but both computers run the game stably for extended periods of time. Dual client is possible at low settings in emergencies, but the experience is not that great.

Only thing is that you really need a mouse to do anything in space though. The trackpads work fine for market/production/etc work but it's frustrating to use once you undock. Touchscreen is almost entirely useless unless you make the UI massive and even then it's tough to use for anything but the most rudimentary tasks

TY! Very Helpful as was earlier information on some Asus tablets. Thanks to everyone for feedback!

I owned an Asus T100 for a very brief time.

I never installed eve on it, but you will find the touch screen generally laggy in it's responsiveness and the removable keyboard
portion of the unit is a cheaply built flimsy piece of ****.

I returned this after 6 days of use.

I would recommend taping together 4 scientific calculators and a medium cheese pizza for more satisfying results.

The Acer Aspire Switch 10 runs Eve OK. I wouldn't want it as my main client but it's fine for casual mining while eating, watching TV etc.

The detachable keyboard also makes AFK mining possible while still watching local and dscan.

Hello fellow rock-chewers and ship-killers!

I'm currently in the market for a tablet for my workplace - a keyboard, mouse, and office-related applications (Microsoft Office) are all that are required.

THE QUESTION
: I have lots of downtime at work occasionally but a laptop is generally too cumbersome and it has to be touchscreen for one of our applications to function properly. I'm looking for a tablet that could run a single client of EvE effectively. That or a very lightweight touchscreen laptop.

i.e. I'd like medium settings across the board and ship flight (particularly for PvP) to be nice and smooth. Budget isn't really an issue. I don't do huge blobbing or anything, just roams and solo mostly.

I'm currently looking at the Surface Pro 3 from Microsoft (the keyboard, though not included, is much better this time around) but I'd love to hear suggestions on any other potential candidates.

Thanks for input - fly safe!

I'm playing Eve on a Surface Pro from time to time. The 3rd version should also be able to handle Eve.
