I'm trying to download eve on a new windows computer but I keep getting this message;

Archive extraction failed: 3.

Has anybody any idea what it means, or how I can get it downloading properly?

Cheers

Btw, it's windows 7

Sounds like it isn't un-compressing the files correctly.. is it the actual launcher that isn't working, or did you download the entire game and then when you try to hit play it gives you the error? also mebbe try re-booting your machine.. usually that fixes stuff like that.

Edit:
Haha.. it's like IT automatic response:
Are you sure it's plugged in?
Have you tried turning it off and on?
Are you sure it is a computer?

Even though there will likely be a new release Jul 24th, as I write this I'm preparing a torrent for the current release (r813270).

I'll post an update in my thread when it is ready; you may want to subscribe to it.

Forget automatic installer. Download the manual Installation files. Use a download manager.

Tbh: I did fall back to good old wget for downloads (using the Windows version) when a new install is required because the launcher trashed the installation again. Haven't had any problems reinstalling since.

Good to hear its working for you.

Was it win8 by any chance? Sounds like the weird nonsense I get with my win8 machines sometimes.

To clarify, my torrent is for the full offline installer.

The BItTorrent client is the download manager.
